The Prep Hoops Circuit Grind Region came to a close this past weekend. The Circuit provided a great platform for prospects on both shoe and independent grassroots teams. Here are five standouts from the Metro-Plex.

Donte Houston Jr 6’8 PF • 2020 • Garland Lakeview Centennial HS [Dallas Showtyme Elite]

Was a force on the court. Dunked the ball with authority and ran the lanes well. Showed his ability to take his opponent from the wing. Guarded positions 3-5 on the court. Showcased his face-up game with great footwork and quick triple threat moves. It’s a no brainer why this prospect has 11 D1 offers on the table right now.

Jalen Williams 6’4 SG • 2020 • Dallas Carter HS [Dallas Showtyme Elite]

Jalen was a big factor from beyond the arc. When he hit a pair he would then take his opponent to the rim. He also got his teammates involved in the game. Jalen has that dawg in him defensively and gave his opponents fits. With a good wingspan and athleticism, it’s a wonder why he only holds a single offer from Pacific University.

Isaiah Calhoun 5’10 PG • 2020 • Plano HS [NTX Crush]

A thick-framed point who has a mean first step. He utilizes his speed very well on the floor on both sides of the ball. Has quick hands when on-ball and plays with intensity. He can score the ball well at all levels and at a high percentage. He just flats out gets after it. Currently holds no offers but has several schools highly interested in him on the gridiron.

Tayton Conerway 6’2 SG • 2020 • Burleson Centennial HS [Team FOE Elite]

This bouncy two-guard brought his tool belt and hard hat to the Grind Region Championships. Good handle on the ball with speed and is all over the floor. Good hand speed when guarding the ball and playing the passing lanes. He also rebounds the ball extremely well for his position. High motor athletic two that gets after it on the floor. Would be a great addition to a D1 Low-Major/D2 program.

Keryn Collins 5’11 PG • 2020 • Burleson Centennial HS [Team FOE Elite]

Is a speedster with the ball in his hands. Has good floor awareness. His deep ball jumper was on point as well. He was able to score in bunches for himself and then followed by 3 assists afterward. He was a major role in his team's success at the Grind Region Finals. Will be a great addition to a collegiate program looking to add a point guard who can light it up as well as facilitate.
