The 6-foot-7 forward has three D1 offers.
“VMI, Campbell, and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville,” shared Lausanne Head Coach Marvis Davis. Right now DeJurnett is looking at adding more offers. “Ole Miss invited him to elite camp. Vandy invited him to elite camp.”

Southern Illinois Carbondale is hoping to get out and evaluate him very soon. They are curious if he can thrive at their level of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC).
What level is the MVC specifically? Though the MVC features zero Tennessee colleges, their teams often recruit Memphis-area players.
Antonio Thomas (Ridgway/Memphis East) begins his freshman season with Bradley University. Part of the recruitment of Thomas was helped by BU senior star and fellow Memphis-native Darrell Brown (Germantown). Tyreke Key (Clay County) is an impact player for the Indiana State Sycamores. After starting his career with Eastern Kentucky University, Dedric Boyd (Haywood) now suits up for Illinois State. After transferring from Panola College, Eric McGill will be a senior for Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIUC).
The MVC is a mid-major league that does attract a sprinkling of Tennessee-based players, while the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) is a mid-major league attracting a downpour. The Ohio Valley Conference feels like a sensible level for DeJurnett, at least as a launchpad for “bigger” conferences. DeJurnett’s SIUE offer is from the OVC. Morehead State is aware, but not overly aggressive just yet. They did offer B.J. Marable (McCallie) in the Class of 2020. He and DeJurnett are probably the same position and grade. Belmont is lead by Casey Alexander, whose staff at Lipscomb in 2018, LOVED JD. It was his dream school too. If this relationship persists, then he could become a Belmont target.
Attributes that help his college prospects will be height, touch around the rim, willingness to pass, and this newfound aggression. DeJurnett plays much more physical now. With more confidence and mental toughness he competes assertively. That makes him more appealing to the more physically demanding conferences.
