Kevin Halfacre @PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine Recapture
Kevin Halfacre (Brainerd) injected a wonderful creativity into the PrepHoopsTN Combine. Halfacre was one of the first invited guests we reached out to, because the Chattanooga Elite AAU player sparkled in the last 12 months between Brainerd High and AAU season. He brought a strong reputation and lived up to it the second to last Saturday in June.

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2014 Timberwolves Ricky Rubio
Star scorer, Kevin Halfacre displays a crazy capacity for scoring. Silky. Crafty. Electric. Kevin Halfacre is a natural scorer. He plays at different speeds, all of them make defenders unsteady and unsure. Halfacre is not the blazing point guard, but he is the scoring point guard. He gets into dangerous areas with his guile and instantly exploits the vulnerability.
Slashing ability, half-court vision, elite ball-handling skills, and mid-range shooting are clear strengths. Size for position and defense are areas of concern long term. He wasn’t very active as a help-defender and there certainly were plays he took off face-guarding the ball-handler. He is good, but not so incredibly dominant that defense can be a pastime. Size for position is something Kevin contended with his entire career, surely. He can carve up defenders and doesn’t force shots, so
Kevin is certain to make All-District again with his tantalizing mix of scoring, creating, and even distributing.
