Three Stripes Alliance: Saturday Standouts

Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top standouts from Saturday’s second day at the Three Stripes Alliance at the Center of St Louis Sports.

Jaylen Boyd 6’1 Team Ramey CCM 17U: The strong and shifty point guard from Ladue was excellent in leading Team Ramey to a pair of pool play victories in competitive games. Whenever his team needed a bucket, he would get downhill and score on an acrobatic layup at the rim or knock down a corner 3-pointer off the catch. He also displayed some athleticism with a couple of resounding dunks. He also picked up an offer from Lindenwood University after a very productive day. Earlier in the week, he received his first offer from Louisiana-Monroe.

Yaya Keita 6’9 Gateway 17U: The 2021 power forward from DeSmet had a very productive day as he scored, rebounded and blocked shots with great energy and activity. For a kid his size, he is always running and moving and making things happen around the basket. His rim-runs led to slam dunks on the offensive end and chase down blocks on the defensive end. He is a tireless worker on the boards and he believes every rebound should be his and his alone.

Isaiah Williams 6'2" Knights Basketball 16U: The 2021 guard from Lutheran North displayed some nice offensive chops during the day as he showcased three-level bucket-getting. He scored a game-high 31 points in his team's first pool play victory and he did it from everywhere. He made four 3-pointers and complimented it with mid-range jumpers and some slashing moves to the basket. The young lefty has a lot of confidence and can put up the points in bunches when he has it going.

Michael Skoff 6'4" Arsenal Hoops Elite 17U: The 2020 forward from DeSmet displayed his versatile game on Saturday, which included some very good shooting from 3-point range, which was a continuation from the first weekend in July in Cape Girardeau where he shot the ball well.

Caleb Justice 6'4" Express Elite 17U: A 2020 forward from Helias who was a matchup problem with his ability to attack the basket with strength and physicality while also knocking down 3-pointers. He is a football player and he brings that toughness to the basketball court where he easily plays through contact to go along with his high motor. He moves well without the basketball as he will cut hard to the basket and go to the offensive boards.

Glenn Valentine 6’0 Ramey CCM 17U: The 2020 guard from Cardinal Ritter has been one of the most improved players that I've watched from the beginning of the grassroots season to late July. He has always been a solid guard who plays good defense, but he has emerged as an offensive factor who can knock down 3-pointers and make plays for his teammates with his added confidence.

Drenin Dinkins 5’9 Gateway 15U: The 2022 guard from South Iron had stretches where he went on scoring binges with his ability to string together 3-pointers while also attacking the basket to buckets and conventional three-point plays. He's small, but he is fearless and is not afraid to get into the middle of the action. He will battle you on defense, take the contact and also draw charges.

Saturday Snipers

Here are a few of the top shooting performances of the day.

Brant Bowers 6’0 Missouri Elite 17U: The Rock Bridge guard made five 3-pointers in a pool play victory over Gateway 16U.

Hasani Spann 6’0 Team Ramey 2021: The MICDS guard made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points in a pool play victory over the Knights

Jackson Chatman 5’11 Arsenal Hoops Select 16U: The 2021 guard from DuBourg made six 3-pointers in a loss to SEMO Select in pool play.

Ramirez Taylor 5’10 Carroll Gol1ve: The 2022 guard from University City made five 3-pointers and scored 18 points in a pool play victory over the Brooklyn Bulls.
