Wunya Brown 5’10” Arsenal Hoops Elite: The talented guard from St. Mary’s is a bucket-getter who is very good at creating shots off the dribble, but I was impressed with his traditional point guard chops during the weekend. He really played the role of facilitator well as he directed the tempo and constantly set up teammates with dimes in their comfort zones. That part of his game continues to evolve.
Dajuan Fields 5’11” Team Ramey 2021: A dynamic combo guard from Miller Career Academy who really did a nice job scoring during the weekend. He has a quick first step and a nice burst to get by defenders to the basket and he combines that with a nice stroke from 3-point range. He is also a high-energy performer on the defensive end.
Kyle Conkright 5’11” Storm Elite: A tough little point guard from Ellington who handled the offense well with his passing and playmaking skills during the weekend. He is a very good shooter from 3-point range, but he can also get into the lane to hit short jumpers and floaters.
Anthony Mackins 6’1″ Cape Elite 17U: A big combo guard from Cape Girardeau who has good size and strength to get to the basket on the regular. He has a variety of shifty moves to free himself from defenders to get to the basket. He is unselfish and always plays under control.
Cortez Harris 5’8″ Team Ramey 2021: A very quick point guard from Alton Marquette (IL) who can really get the tempo going in the open court with his speed and quickness. He is also an excellent on-ball defender who picks up his man from baseline to baseline.
