Tyler is about as polished of a bucket getter as you will find in his class. He is a capable scorer from all over the court, but especially knocking down shots from distance. But just because he is an excellent shooter doesn’t mean that’s all there is to his game. He is a good ball handler, and is a crafty finisher around the rim, using change of pace and euro-steps to score around defenders in the paint. He gets to the spot he wants to get to, and there isn’t much the defense can do about it a lot of the time.
Deziel Perkins 6’0 Madison Prep & Louisiana Elite
Perkins is a hard-nosed combo guard that excels on both ends of the floor. He moves laterally extremely well, and has the quickness to really be a pest for opposing ball handlers. He shoots the ball well from deep, especially off catch and shoot situations, and as a result is a good 3&D prospect to watch going forward. His game reminds me a bit of fellow Baton Rouge native Tai’reon “Scoota” Joseph of Scotlandville. Joseph has worked hard over the past year making himself into a legit D1 prospect, and if Perkins works as hard, I definitely see a path for him to get there.
Zytarious Ivory 6’3 Peabody & Team Harden
From the second you see Ivory play, the first thing that you are going to notice is his athleticism. He has elite level athleticism, and loves to show it off in transition, throwing down big time dunks on the break. However, he isn’t a one trick pony and brings some skill to the table. He is a good shooter from deep, and is able to use his athleticism when attacking the rim in the half court. He has all of the tools to be an excellent defender, and not many make it out of Peabody without becoming a lock down defender.
Devon Lizana 6’1 Slidell & Nola23
Lizana is a really speedy guard that knows how to run the show. His game has the most pure point guard qualities of anyone on this list, and he looks his best when attacking down hill. He is a good attacker out of the pick and roll, and does a good job of reading the defense and taking what the defense gives him. He is one of the very few players that has played up 17u for a circuit team this summer, and has gotten a lot of reps against elite competition as a result.
