2019 FGCU Team Camp: Sunday Standouts

I took the trip over to the FGCU Team Camp on Sunday at Alico Arena.

Between four courts in the arena, six games were on my schedule.

Here is a look at the top prospects I watched.

Tyrone Baker (Riverdale)

2021 6'8" Riverdale forward Tyrone Baker was active from the start against Lemon Bay. Even on a young team, he stands out constantly. Baker is long, active and always looking to dunk when near the rim. He definitely needs to add muscle and be more aggressive at times, but he's coming along nicely.

MK Ashmore, Dominick Denny & Justin Abson (North Broward Prep)

The dynamic and versatility on North Broward Prep is super fun to watch. 2021 6'6" forward MK Ashmore, 2020 5'11" guard Dominick Denny and 2022 6'7" forward Justin Abson all get the Eagles going. Often on the floor together, the trio are a dangerous bunch. Ashmore is a lengthy wing who is always active, gets in the paint, is quick and long. Denny is a very crafty, well-formed shooter and passer. He's undersized but draws contact often. Abson projects well in due time as a big body who gets inside and battles.

Victor Brown & Brice Sensabaugh (Lake Highland Prep)

Playing without 2021 forward Gabriel Ferguson and 2023 guard/forward Sean Stewart, Lake Highland Prep still had plenty to work with. 2020 6'4" guard Victor Brown was cooking from deep against Colombus and he really proved to be active inside on the boards as well. He can certainly do a better job of slowing down his decision making as a ballhandler and passer, but Brown is a blazer. 2022 6'5" guard Brice Sensabaugh came over from Hagerty and he's starting to get it going with his new squad. He's a big-bodied shooter. He needs to add muscle but he is a good scorer who creates on his own.

Judelin Prophet (Hialeah)

An elusive wing, 2020 6'5" Hialeah athlete Judelin Prophet played the right way for his squad. He's a good ballhandler with nice foot speed and that helps him get into smart areas down low. Prophet battles on the boards and is someone who will get looks from Division II/NAIA programs simply because of his length and athleticism.

Kamdyn Ayers (Cardinal Gibbons)

Part of an undersized Cardinal Gibbons squad, 2022 5'11" guard Kamdyn Ayers has a good feel for the game. He has solid vision and plays lockdown defense. Ayers also is a nice finisher at the cup and a guy who runs with confidence on the break and weaves by guys. He is in for a big sophomore season.

Jahvon Smith (Norland)

2020 6'3" guard Jahvon Smith is the guy for a new look Norland squad that has speedy athletes who constantly run the floor. He spent his junior season at Norland after transferring over from Hallandale and he was really steady all season long. He's super strong in his upper and lower body and is a true athlete. Smith takes care of the ball and thrives as an attacker, but can stand to improve his shooting touch.

2021 Riverdale F Tyrone Baker is always dunking. @RHSRaiderHoops @RaiderAthletes @CoachLaskaris pic.twitter.com/MQ8e7KXDLe
— ᴊᴀᴋᴇ ᴘᴇʀᴘᴇʀ (@JakePerper) June 16, 2019
