Biggest standouts from Day 1 of the NBPA Top 100 Camp, Part 1

Day 1 of the NBPA Top 100 Camp kicked off in Charlottesville on Wednesday evening. There were a number of prospects who stood out right away.

Mady Sissoko - 6'11 - 230 - Wasatch Academy - 2020

Mady Sissoko was arguably the best big man on the floor for his Philadelphia 76ers squad. Sissoko got off to a fast start with the first six points in his team's opening game and never looked back. He's a 6-foot-11 big man that can move with quickness up and down the floor. He's a terror on the glass and an even better rim protector than he gets credit for. Look for his stock to grow at this year's camp.

Dylan Cardwell - 6'10 - 220 - Oak Hill Academy - 2020

Dylan Cardwell is another big man who really asserted himself on the interior for his Boston Celtics' squad. Cardwell set the tone in the paint with his nice hands and big body in the post. He's learning how to use his body to maintain position down low and when he wins the battle, good things usually happen. He's another player to keep an eye on this week.

Chet Holmgren - 7'1 - 190 - Minnehana Academy - 2021

Dynamic is the best word to use when describing Chet Holmgren's skillset. He's 7-foot-1 and still filling out his frame at 190-pounds. He's got a guard's skill set in a big man's body which allows him to stretch the floor with his jumper. He can create space and has all the length in the world to create his own shot. Just needs to learn how to stay involved in the game.

Trevor Keels - 6'5 - 210 - Paul VI Catholic High School - 2021

Trevor Keels is really starting to fill out his 6-foot-5 frame. He had nice showing on Day 1 with a hustle sequence of his own. He got the ball on the break on one end, made a nice move to the basket, drew contact but no foul, converted the layup, anyways. Keels then sprinted back on defense, cut the ball off and drew a charge call. His big play potential is a massive one.

Kyree Walker - 6'5 - 205 - Hillcrest Prep - 2020

Kyree Walker is a big combo guard at 6-foot-5 that showed a knack for getting to the rim in Day 1. Walker made a number of quality drives to the rim where he finished through contact and in a few cases, drew the foul and the bucket. He's a prospect that a number of colleges have been and continue to be high on out of Hillcrest Prep. Look for him to set himself apart with a big weekend.

A.J. James - 6'4 - 170 - Green Run - 2020

A.J. James has slowly climbed up the ranks in the 2020 recruiting class and he showed why in Day 1. James is a smart point guard that can set up teammates to make plays as well as himself with his solid mid-range game. He's got a nice feel for the game on offense and doesn't try to overdo it by forcing things. With his underrated athleticism, look for James to turn some heads this week.

Brandon Boston Jr. - 6'6 - 175 - Norcross High School - 2020

Brandon Boston Jr. is an emerging star on the wing. He's got potential to become a star in isolation with his crafty handles and unstoppable length. He created a number of quality shots for himself on numerous occasions on Day 1. His game looks a lot like former Duke wing Brandon Ingram.

P.J. Hall - 6'9 - 220- Dorman High School - 2020

P.J. Hall is an underrated big man that turned heads on Day 1 with his hustle and extra effort. He's a big man that gets up and down the floor in a hurry, often causing havoc on the glass and on the perimeter. He's got a nice feel for the game around the rim and got some tough putbacks to go when his team needed him.

Jarace Walker - 6'9 - 220 - IMG Academy - 2022

Jarace Walker is one of the younger campers on display this week as a member of the 2022 class, but he didn't show it. Walker is a big forward prospect listed at 6-foot-9 but he's got the mobility of a guard to go with his power forward frame, making him a potential matchup nightmare in the process. He's one player that's set to have a big week and is also an IMG Academy product.

Zion Harmon - 5'11 - 175 - Marshall County High - 2021

Zion Harmon is a floor general with a high IQ and scoring ability. Harmon did well to setup his teammates for guaranteed points and when he wasn't doing that, he was carving up the defense himself for buckets. He's got unlimited range on the floor but his biggest asset is his ability to control the game with his driving skills. He did well to draw attention to himself when earning assists and making plays for teammates.
