Mack, Miller and Lofton Tournament: Players to Watch (2021 and 2022)

<p>This weekend brings a big high school tournament to the KBC in Lexington for the first time. There is a loaded field with several of Kentucky's best teams in the field. 40 varsity programs are coming to play at the KBC but only one will leave with the championship. Here's a look at some of the top 2021 and younger players in the field. These are presented in no particular order.</p> <p><strong>Trey James, Martin County - </strong>James will be tested by Ray Surratt of Lafayette and Obinna from Chapmanville (WV) in pool play. A good chance to boost his stock.</p> <p><strong>Noah Stansbury, Greenwood - </strong>One of the better shooters in the event, the son of WKU head coach Rick Stansbury is skilled and plays with a good edge to him.</p> <p><strong>Ben Johnson, Lexington Catholic - </strong>One of the best 2021s in the state, Ben is going to be a marked man as the most experienced player on a relatively young Catholic team. </p> <p><strong>Colby Fugate, Paintsville - </strong>Fugate is a top 5 2022 in our rankings and will have a chance to show the state how much potential he has this weekend. Look for Colby to post some big scoring numbers.</p> <p><strong>Bryce Riley, Nelson County - </strong>Bryce can shoot it at a high level and continues to develop as a slasher. It will be interesting to see how he performs in a very tough pool this weekend.</p> <p><strong>Jerone Morton, George Rogers Clark - </strong>The lefty is having a big AAU season and continues to develop. He's going to be the go-to scorer for GRC next season so he's one to keep an eye on this weekend.</p> <p><strong>Jaz Johnson, Wolfe County - </strong>One of the best scorers in the mountains, Jaz has "in the gym range" but continues to improve and become a more complete player as his game evolves.</p> <p><strong>Tim Hall, Dunbar - </strong>A top 2022, Tim is athletic and long and is a good rebounder and low post scorer. If he continues to grow and develop, he tracks as a big time D1 prospect.</p> <p><strong>Cearius Warren, Southern - </strong>The best athlete in the event, Warren has ridiculous potential and the time has come for him to turn potential into production. Southern has a winnable pool if they play well.</p> <p><strong>DaShawn Jackson, Frederick Douglass - </strong>Jackson has been a top 10 prospect since we started our 2021 rankings. It will be interesting to see if he is ready to take the next step and be one of the top players in Lexington.</p> <p><strong>Dante Hayden, Danville - </strong>Danville lost a lot to graduation so Dante will be counted on to do the majority of the scoring for the Admirals. Hayden is a good shooter that is improving off the dribble.</p> <p><strong>Jordan Akal, Harlan - </strong>One of the best All A players in the event, Akal can really score the ball. If he gets some help this weekend, the Dragons may upset Scott County and Woodford in pool play.</p> <p><strong>Jaden Rogers, Fern Creek - </strong>Possibly the best player in the 2021 class, Jaden is the only Junior in Kentucky with a D1 offer at this point. Look for him to run the show for the Tigers this weekend.</p> <p><strong>Darrius Washington, Fern Creek - </strong>Another top Junior in the state, it's time for Darrius to start reaching his potential as a 6'7 four man that can face up and knock down some shots.</p>
