Southern JamFest Superlatives: Rim Protectors

<p>There aren't many experiences in grassroots that can compare to the one at Southern JamFest. It's always interesting to witness teams from across all three sneaker circuits and beyond battle for supremacy. This week on the site we will be providing extensive coverage of the tournament beginning with superlatives. Below is a look at five of the best rim protectors we saw this weekend.</p> <p><strong>FAVOUR AIRE | 6'10 C | 16U NEW WORLD/MCNAMARA '22</strong></p> <p>A big reason for New World's success at the 16U level this weekend was thanks to the inside presence of <strong>Favour Aire</strong>. The long-armed post prospect was one of the most aggressive and effective shot blockers we saw all weekend.  </p> <p><strong>NOEL BROWN | 6'10 C | 17U DISTRICT WAWG/FLINT HILL '20</strong></p> <p><strong>Noel Brown</strong> isn't as prolific as some others on this list in terms of recording tangible blocks, but he's just as effective at altering shots and plugging the paint with his robust frame. Brown's ability to control the paint was a key factor in his team's run to the championship. </p> <p><strong>ANDRE SCREEN | 6'10 C | 17U DC PREMIER/SSSAS '20</strong></p> <p>Each time he steps on the court, <strong>Andre Screen</strong> becomes a game changer with his natural ability to block shots. Screen moves bodies in the paint and reacts quickly enough to block or alter virtually every shot in his area. </p> <p><strong>DAVID SOLOMON | 6'5 F | 15U TEAM DURANT/LAKE BRADDOCK '22</strong></p> <p><strong>David Solomon</strong> is an incredible athlete who explodes off the floor at 6-foot-5. He blocks shots relentlessly and effortlessly.</p> <p><strong>STEPHAUN WALKER | 6'6 F | 15U TEAM TAKEOVER/COOLIDGE '22</strong></p> <p><strong>Stephaun Walker</strong> is a prideful paint presence who is assertive on the defensive end. Walker has long arms and is equally effective at blocking shots while defending on the ball or in help-side situations.</p>
