KC Classic: Top wings who raised their profile (17U)

<p>LAWRENCE, Kan. — The annual KC Classic saw some of the top grassroots teams from around the state of Kansas, Kansas City and the region meet at the Kansas Pavilion in Lawrence and the event drew several top performers.</p> <p>Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the events top wing players in the 17U division.</p> <p><strong>20-Max Bullinger, 6’3, 2020, Bishop Carroll Catholic, Kansas MTXE 17</strong>U</p> <p>Bullinger plays fast and loose. He rebounds on one end then knocks down shots at the other. He does a bit of everything on the floor and can fill out a stat sheet if he wants to. He moves well around screens and goes back door and runs the baseline, stepping in the paint and then out.</p> <p><strong>22-Harper Jonas, 6’4, 2020, Andover, NLHA 17</strong></p> <p>Jonas likes to shoot the 3-pointer but can move inside and score as well. The 3-point shot comes naturally and he forces himself to drove and finish around the basket or the mid-range area. He defends the ball and can handle himself as a wing or even defender up top.</p> <p><strong>13-Thomas King, 6’5, 2020, Campus NLHA 17</strong></p> <p>King plays big and looks to get touches inside. He passes well at the high post and can hit open looks and create opportunities for others as he uses his size and length inside to draw attention. He can handle it some down low but usually catches and shoots and looks to pass.</p> <p><strong>23-Isaac LeShore, 6’4, 2020, Buhler, Kansas MTXE 17U</strong></p> <p>A lengthy defender and great rebounder on both ends of the floor. LeShore has a nice vertical and can get up and block a shot on the arc or inside. He can get a hand on offensive rebounds and tip them in for two. He has a strong defensive game and is often put on tall scorers on the wing.</p> <p><strong>31-Austin Murrow, 6’5, 2020, Blue Valley SW, Mokan 2020</strong></p> <p>He’s a fluid two-way player with length, speed and good handles. He has a soft touch when he crashes the boards and has a nice one-handed floater. He also shoots well from distance and can connect from the wing, corner and straight ahead.</p>
