2020 6’4 Ashley “AJ” James | District WAWG
A name that has certainly gotten a lot of buzz over the course of the entire high school season and now into AAU season has been Ashley James. James recently announced he is going to attend Hargrave Military Academy next year and be in the 2020 class. James continued his natural scoring ability this past weekend. He finished in transition, hit tough pull up’s and finished in contact. One part of the game that his coaching staff has been working on with him is his passing and that certainly showed. He was distributing the ball well to teammates and occasionally when he would draw a double team, he would get the ball out to open teammates.
2020 6’5 Liam Lloyd | Washington Supreme
Coaches, if you want a shooter, Lloyd is your guy. Lloyd was one of the top shooters I saw all weekend and the entire spring. In the game I saw him play this past weekend, he scored 24 points including 6 three-pointers. He is a pure shooter and has a tremendous stroke. He has ultimate green light and range like no other. Mid major programs should be all over this guy as he is a guy that can come in to a program and get buckets from day 1.
2020 6’4 Jordan Toles | Team Thrill
Two sport star, Jordan Toles had it going this past weekend in New Jersey. He demonstrated he is an absolute animal on the court as he dropped 22 points in a win against Wisconsin playground on Friday night. With Toles being a star on the football field, he has a lot of muscle to himself and he used that when attacking the lane. He was also impressive fighting and going up for rebounds. Toles brought high intensity and leadership all weekend as he showed that he has strong mid major potential on the basketball court while he has been receiving big time power conference offers for football. Maryland and LSU are two high majors basketball offers that he has received.
2020 6’9 John Ojiako | Team Thrill
Talk about a sleeper in the 2020 class, Ojiako showed high major attributes in my viewing of him Friday night. Ojiako brings length and height to the court standing at 6’9. However, one of the most impressive thing about his game that I saw was his ability to hit shots from 15-20 feet out. He also finished a nice transition play with a euro step and was constantly rebounding the ball including a few offensive tip in’s. Virginia Tech offered last week and I predict that is the first high major school to come calling for him.
2020 6’4 Zeb Jackson | C2K Elite
Michigan is getting a stud in Jackson. Props to the Michigan staff for wrapping this up early and getting a commitment of Jackson early on. He was hitting shots in defenders eyes and hitting mid range floaters in my viewing of him. He was also getting by all of the defenders guarding him and finishing tough layups at the rim. He definitely is a score first guard but showed that he can make good passes with good decision making. I expect him to make noise early in the Big 10.
