Spring Jam Fest Saturday P.M. Standouts

<p><em>MANHEIM, PA</em> -- Day two of Hoop Group Spring Jam Fest is officially in the books. Below we take a closer at of some of the standouts from the afternoon and evening game sets respectively. </p> <h2>PRZEMEK GOLEK | 6'4 G | 17U GLOBAL SQUAD/GORETTI '19</h2> <p>Any D2's in need of help on the wing should immediately reach out to <strong>Przemek Golek</strong>. He is a versatile playmaker who can defend and score from three levels at 6-foot-4. Golek is also a sneaky good athlete. He was responsible one of the best individual highlights of the day, a dunk in traffic over top of a helpless defender. </p> <h2>BYRON IRELAND | 6'2 G | 16U TEAM MELO/ANNAPOLIS '21</h2> <p><strong>Byron Ireland</strong> erupted for 32 of his team's 69 points in one of the biggest games of the day: Team Melo's hard-fought win over Philly Pride. Ireland has incredible length, owning a 6-foot-6 wingspan. He is crafty with the ball, has good burst and can finish consistently in transition, in traffic or through contact. The next area for his improvement will be developing a reliable perimeter jump shot.</p> <h2>AMANI HANSBERRY | 6'6 C | 14U TEAM DURANT/ST. JOHN'S '23</h2> <p>Takeover and Durant 14's competed hard in the 15U elite 8, and <strong>Amari Hansberry</strong> was the primary stand out in this one. The future St. John's Cadet is a post technician with length and superb touch. Hansberry has a sturdily built frame. He is relentless on the boards, plays extremely hard, and demonstrates toughness. He scored a game-high 25 points while battling a migraine headache which nearly sidelined him for this contest.</p> <h2>GARFIELD TUNRER | 6'8 F/C | 17U DBC/COVENANT LIFE '20</h2> <p><strong>Garfield Turner</strong> has been consistently asserting himself for District 17's as they continue to rack up convincing wins. The long limbed forward is an enforcer in the paint and an exceptional rebounder. Turner is a name that is not that well known at the moment, but you better believe his time is coming.</p> <h2>KENDALL WALKER | 5'11 G | 17U MD3D RED/BOYS' LATIN '20 </h2> <p>MD3D Red played stingy defense in their hard-fought loss to Shoreshots Pooley HGSL, and <strong>Kendall Walker</strong> was the head of the snake. He's a hard-nosed lead guard who isn't afraid to dive on the floor for a loose ball or secure a rebound in traffic. Offensively, Walker is a patient floor general who can handle, get into the paint, and distribute the ball to his teammates. Despite not coming up with the victory, he can be proud of his effort.</p>
