With a quick trigger he lit up the scoring column this weekend and made sure he’s shot was falling. A senior who could help a program out with his threat from long range. One of the best seniors from this weekend.
Jake Overbay 5’10 G 2022 (Hotshots 15u Premier)-Jake was one of the elite freshman shooters this weekend at the Courtside basketball tournament. A shooter who can put it on the floor and is very crafty. Jake’s skill is at high level which keeps him in scoring position. Jakes long ball is constant from long range and even deeper. He is a threat from all over the floor. He is also open to running the point guard position and coming off ball screens. If defenders go under he reads it and knocks it down. If defenders go over he finds a teammate or gets to the rim. Can come off screens and make contested shots. A very good floor leader.
Sean Procher 6’3 G 2020 (Team Reign)– Sean was an elite shooter who was deadly from 3. Knocking down 3’s on the move and off the catch. Sean stretches the floor for his Reign team and also plays hard defense. There is no way shape or from where Sean can’t shoot from. A very good prospect if a college needs a shooter.
James Cook 6’3 G 2022 (Hotshots Elite 15u Select)-James Cook is one of the best long term prospects in Northern California. He has a great frame and great skill set that fits his game. Deadly from the wing James looks to get the ball and put it in the air early. Being a great height, he used his turn around jumpier this weekend and it was very affective. He hassle had some mid post fade aways. James will be a dangerous wing, and he’s still growing.
Mateen Rafiq 5’8 2023 (YC Ballers)– Mateen was by far one of the best shooters this weekend regardless of class. With Klay thompson like footwork he has defenders fly by and then resets his feet for what are like layup 3 balls. Coming off down screens he also finds a way to get up and with his quick trigger still get his shot off. Had the best footwork all weekend and made about 5+ 3’s a game. The real deal when it comes to dead eye.
Christopher Christmas G 6’4 2021 (Upper Level 16u)-Christopher is a very young scorer. Standing at a lanky 6’4 he made easy jumpers on the break and a ton of corner 3’s. I think the most impressive part of the weekend was his will to help his team win. Making 3 long ball from the corner in a row to open up his teams gap by 9. He has a good handle that allows him to get in the paint and use his floaters. Young prospect to watch.
Ethan Patterson 5’8 G 2022 (Hotshots Elite 15u Premier)– While Ethan comes off the bench he gets straight to business as soon as he checks in. Coming in for offensive purposes Ethan seems to a always be open. He’s open on kick outs and on tip outs. Making 10+ 3’s this weekend Ethan provided a lift of the beach for his team. He has a smooth game that reminds me of Jermey Lamb, smooth guard who plays at his own pace.
