#1 Fayetteville Academy (Record 27-3):

First off we must congratulate the NCISAA 2A champs in FA as they won the championship in dominating fashion. The Eagles were led by Senior Guard John Michael Wright who was impressive all season long, throw in big man Emmanuel Izunabor and Forward William Oyeondi scoring and rebounding at a nice rate plus the team playing high level defense. They didn’t come into the season as the preseason favorite but it didn’t take long to see how special this team could be, the culture has changed at FA without a doubt.

#2 Northwood Temple (Record 20-14):

They got off to a rough start this season but as time went on they only got better and made a big time run in the state playoffs to make it all the way to the state championship. Senior Guard Josh Nickelberry was dominant throughout the season, averaging close to 30 points per game and taking home Conference Player of The Year honors. Junior Guard Jamahri Harvey had some big time games and turned the heads of D1 coaches which is something that we had been waiting for, add in some sharp shooting from Senior Guard Charles Page who picked up D3 looks and JUCO interest and the Eagles put it all together.

#3 Village Christian (Record 22-13)

Despite the adversity that VCA this season, they put together an impressive season and took Carmel Christian to the wire, coming up just short of a state championship. The injury bug definitely bit the Knights this season but they pressed on and showed that they wouldn’t let anything stop them. Senior PG Travion McCray and 2020 Guard Zavian McLean put together some monster numbers and made their case as one of the best backcourts in the state. Big man Derrick Quansah showed why D1 programs have been calling about him and Junior Wing Justin Thomas got better as the season went on, showing the talent and potential he has.

#4 Trinity Christian (Record 21-10)

Trinity started off hot, and made the Championship game of the John Wall invitational before falling to powerhouse program Brewster Academy. Soon after, they loss Forward Greg Gantt for the season with a hand injury so other players had to step up and fill the void in a hurry. Senior Guards DJ Horne and Talton Jones were two that stepped up for the Crusaders in a major way, they scored the ball at a good level and brought intensity on the defensive end.

#5 Fayetteville Christian (Record 16-15):

Don’t let the record fool you, this team here is one of the most improved in the area and have a large amount of talent coming back next year. 2020 Forward Jaden Scriven was outstanding throughout and will be one to keep an eye on over the summer and into next season as he has a chance to be a very good player and prospect.

#6 Freedom Christian (Record 12-17):The Patriots had an up and down year but put together a nice run in the playoffs, reaching the State Semi-Finals. They will lose some players due to graduation but should have some talent coming back as well in player such as Junior 6’9 Forward Aymeric Toussiant who is a D1 prospect.

#7 Cape Fear Christian (Record 19-16):CFCA didn’t have their best year but they did put together some nice wins and got outstanding play from Senior Guard EJ Bethea who averaged 16 PPG and took home All-Conference honors.

#8 New Life Christian (Record 24-11): New Life started off the season slow and with most of their county games being early on, things didn’t go well initially. However once the team meshed they put together some good games and would get wins over schools such as Mount Zion and Freedom Christian. 2020 Wing Reggie Raynor is one of the names that people know and he has the potential to be a very good player if he continues to work. 2020 Guard Phil Martin Jr made his case as one of the best shooters in the state and the team as a whole seemed to buy in defensively.

#9 Berean Baptist Academy (Record 16-11): Senior Guard Aaron Sinclair was called on to take over a major part of the offense with the departure of their starting PG from last season. Sinclair is a player that can score the ball in multiple ways but is one that can knock down shots from deep for sure.
