Top Weekend Performers
February’s arrival means much to the successful teams. Unfortunately, many teams are nearly or completely eliminated. Both circumstances require high character and high skill to dominate.
Peruse the players who exerted their strength during the first February weekend.
Isaiah Johnson, with a Chicago State coach in attendance, scored 27 points with six rebounds, six assists, and six steals. Cleveland High benefited from this three quarter explosion and did not need Johnson on the hardwood for the fourth.
Grant Hurst (Cleveland) scored 29 points on 5-9 from deep in the win.
Jacobi Wood (Cleveland), playing with Penn State watching, recorded 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 17 points.
Kley McGowan, a veteran of @PrepHoopsTN Fall Combine, put in 12 points with 5 rebounds and three assists.
Grayson Saunier (ECS) buried five three-pointers in the first quarter and managed 7 3 pter makes by halftime.
Brandon Miller (Cane Ridge) scored 23 points with 14 rebounds against Glencliff High and 26 points with 9 rebounds against Overton.
Blue Weidemann (Franklin Christian Academy) gave 31 points (5-15 3’s).
Kennedy Chandler (Briarcrest Christian) recorded 24 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals in a win.
Stone Norton (Davidson Academy) averaged 22 ppg, 10 rpg.
Barron Nease (Union County) put in 22 points on Monday and 29 Friday versus Gibbs.
Eric Rivers (McCallie) scored 30 points against Hamilton Heights.
