Shelby Sampleton 2019 Putnam City West G
If you’ve kept up with anything over the past few days from the Tournament of Champions, then chances are you’ve probably heard Sampleton’s name tossed around a few times. That’s because the senior averaged 19 points a game for the fourth-place finishing Patriots, making him the fourth-leading scorer in the tournament and first for PC West. Sampleton’s shooting was remarkable and the energy he brought to the floor helped to give the Patriots an edge.
BJ Armstrong 2021 Tulsa Memorial PG
6-foot-even BJ Armstrong came off the bench for Tulsa Memorial and was a productive reliever for the Chargers’ backcourt. Armstrong made an impact in ball movement and scoring. He got to the rack, drew fouls, and posted a perfect 100 percent free throw-shooting stretch over the weekend, helping the Chargers to not miss a beat.
Trevor Roberts 2019 Whitesboro G
Trevor Roberts came off the bench in two of three game in the TOC, the first against Booker T. Washington, the second against Kingston. He went to work in both those games and contributed significant play, playing tough defense, rebounding aggressively, and adding 13 points against BTW.
Donte’ Shanklin 2021 Hugo PG
Donte Shanklin dropped a 17-point performance against Fort Cobb-Broxton off 5-11 shooting from beyond the arch. Shanklin’s quick release and spot-up ability make the sophomore a pretty tough player to guard.
2020 Kingston Kaden Johnson G
Kaden Johnson scored 11 points off the bench in the Redskins’ win over Whitesboro in the second round of the TOC. Even more impressive, the junior shot 80 percent from the field in the showing.
