The Colony out of Dallas, Texas has been playing very well so far this season. I watched them take on Ryan high school out of Denton. The Colony is talented in every position on the floor. They’re led by Seniors Luis Rodriguez, Garren Davis, and Bryce Okpoh. Talented Underclassmen Tay Mosher and football standout Keith Miller are the other two starters that help shape up one of the best starting lineups in the state of Texas.
Against Denton Ryan, The Colony Cougars exploited them on the glass and in transition by beating them down the floor. Ryan’s standout Junior Jay Wilson competed and showcased his athleticism despite the 60-51 lost to Colony.
Player Recaps
Luis Rodriguez / 5’8” / PG / Colony / 2019
Rodriguez is the straw that stirs the drink for the Colony Cougars. He shot the ball well and found open teammates for easy baskets.
Bryce Okpoh / 6’7” / Forward / Colony / 2019
Okpoh is an Athletic Forward that gets off the floor well and finishes above the rim. Okpoh rebounded the ball well against Ryan.
Tay Mosher / 6’7” / Forward / Colony / 2021
Mosher looks the part for his position and has a good looking jumper. Needs to be more aggressive attacking the basket from the perimeter. A decent Rebounder for the position has promising upside.
Garren Davis / 6’3” / Combo / Colony / 2019
Davis is a strong off the ball scorer that knows how to attack the lane and finish at the rim.
Keith Miller / 6’4” / Forward / Colony / 2020
Miller does a little bit of everything for his Colony team. Rebounds the ball well on both ends and makes tough plays for his team.
Jay Wilson / 6’7” / Wing / Denton Ryan / 2020
Wilson showed really good athletic ability and toughness. He has broad shoulders to go with a chiseled frame. He can start the break with the ball in his hands and finish in transition. He has good length and can guard on the ball on defense. Solid looking D1 Prospect for the class of 2020.
