Prep Hoops brought its New Jersey Expo back to Wayne, NJ, this past weekend, assembling a talented group of prospects spanning the 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 classes. The showcase offered an opportunity to evaluate players in a competitive environment, with prospects looking to demonstrate their strengths, expand their skill sets, and distinguish themselves from their peers. Several members of New Jersey's 2029 and 2030 classes took advantage of the opportunity, delivering performances worth highlighting and with that being said, let's break down some of those prospects from those respective classes who stood out and although early, strengthened their stocks heading into the high school season.

Possessing the makings of an undersized but incredibly tough and instinctive competitor who's feel for the game allow him to impact the game as a habitual paint toucher and potent outside shot maker, [player_tooltip player_id='3788834' first='Brody' last='Stone'] strung together plenty of encouraging flashes that reinforced his ability to impact the game in both of those areas. Stone attacks the paint with straight line speed and routinely gets two feet deep in the paint, maintaining his court vision on drives to draw two and hit open dunker spot finishers while mixing in some crafty and soft touch finishers at the rim. Stone complements those downhill drives with a mixture of crafty finishes from tough angles and soft touch finishes around the basket, while also demonstrating the perimeter shooting ability to remain a threat and impact the game as an off ball weapon.

A rather seamless fit at the guard position with an evolving offensive skillset, [player_tooltip player_id='2969300' first='Steeven' last='Pierre'] offers value as an in rhythm shot maker while flashing the potential to become a more dynamic creator off the bounce. On the heels of a productive summer that featured a refined offensive approach paired with an opportunity for a more prominent role joining a new program, Pierre looked the part of a prospect entering the winter with growing momentum and a potential significant leap on the horizon— showing a feel for playing within the offense and creating off the dribble, using his handle and creativity off the bounce to create separation to generate quality scoring opportunities, highlighted particularly by generating mid range pull ups and soft touch runners in the lane. And even displaying the confidence and range to connect on spot up threes. With an increased offensive workload expected at College Achieve Central, his ability to sustain his shot making production while continuing to develop as a self creator will be a key aspect in his development to follow.
