NW HoopSource HS Fall League Weekend 1 – Eye Catchers (I)

Liberty High School was the place to be for the HoopSource HS Fall League. We watched several games last Saturday, and teams from across the state were in attendance. Here are some of the players who caught our eye.

A 6'7 rim runner who used his size and athleticism well around the basket. Brian has nice touch around the rim, plays above the rim, and is a consistent lob threat. He's a solid rebounder and rim protector who brought a strong interior presence on both ends. Brian also converted at the free-throw line and gave his team another reliable way to score inside.

Iveagh is a dominant undersized post who plays much bigger than his size. Kanyako has great footwork, a strong basketball IQ, and isn't afraid to throw his body around inside. He's an excellent rebounder for his size and consistently battles around the paint. Just a sophomore, Kanyako led all scorers with 14 points and showed plenty of potential on both ends of the floor.

One of the top incoming freshmen in the state and a young guard with plenty of potential. Sideris is a strong ball handler with a quick first step that allows him to create off the dribble. He competed as an on-ball defender and brought consistent effort on both ends. A hard worker and team-first player, Sideris is definitely a name to watch as he begins his high school career.

Jacob is a talented and quick guard who brings a great motor every time he steps on the floor. Harper-Grant is a strong scorer who attacks the rim aggressively and is a relentless finisher around the basket. He can also create for teammates as a passer and uses his strength and effort to make an impact defensively, including protecting the rim.

One of my favorite prospects to watch in the sophomore class. Cogan is a strong forward who plays above the rim and brings a big presence defensively as a shot blocker. He's a hard worker with great potential and continues to show why he's ranked among the top 10 players in his class. There's a lot to like about his upside as he continues to develop.
