Learn which players are entering 2026-2027 as the players to watch in District 9-4A. The rankings you see are for the specific class they are in. For example, Braylon Bailey is ranked #43 in the Class of 2028, not for all hoopers of all grades.

Blackman added one of the best point guards in the state when Miles Alexander elected to leave Cannon County High for the Blaze. So far, Miles loves Blackman's coaching staff. He sees the potential to really develop his game in the coming years. Braylon Bailey is going to have a breakout season, which is why we rank him so highly. Cash Shipley continues to fly under the radar regionally though he is attracting a significant amount of college interest and offers.

Miles just earned an offer from Tennessee Tech during an unofficial visit. Belmont University also hosted Alexander recently. He has all of the skills and potential of a future mid-major lead guard. Could he land an SEC offer or two? Maybe eventually. Belmont and Tech are wise to get in early and start to woo the young talent.

Stewarts Creek starter Sean Goggins is good enough to play college basketball next year. The former PrepHoopsTN Combine MVP Goggins will challenge for District MVP with Miles Alexander and possibly Bailey.

Smyrna graduated two star players (Kaden Matthews, Yon Kinzer) in the spring, so there will an adjustment period. Veteran Sucory Weathers will help them through that even though his football season overlaps with basketball's beginning. Last year Weathers averaged 8.0 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per. He was an integral defensive player too.

Bray'lon Leake (Smyrna) showed enough talent and size at the PrepHoopsTN Combine in June to indicate a breakout season is nearing. It depends upon playing time, of course, but the potential to thrive within this district is there.
