Freshman Showcase Recap: Team 6 Evals

We are continuing our post-event coverage of the Freshman Showcase from this past weekend, now turning our attention to evaluations for each player on team 6. Stay tuned for more analysis on every team from the event.    Warfa was able to get to his spots at times and showed some touch at each level. Used his handle well and had some moves to get around defenders while switching up his speeds and incorporating pump fakes in traffic. Hit a handful of 3-pointers to help stretch the floor for his squad.     Hallam is a sneaky guard who made some plays on both ends of the floor. Has enough of a handle and some quickness to get into dangerous spots, much like he did to hit the game-winning shot in one of his team's games. Made an impact on defense with his quick hands and anticipation.     Seemed to find his rhythm as the day went along and started to show off some real feel for delegating in transition. Was able to weave through defenders with his eyes down court and make a few superb finds up the floor. Just has a natural rhythm and cadence with his handle and subtle change of speeds. Played a solid two-way game and also showed some smoothness in slicing down lanes to the basket.     Conklin was a constant example of just playing to make the right play. He was about the most mistake-free player I saw, not just in limiting turnovers or not chucking up bad shots, but in being in the right spots, understanding spacing, making the right reads and cuts, playing hard, and being a willing teammate. He was aggressive pushing in transition but under control and understood where his outlets were in different scenarios.     Artale did some nice things working quickly off the catch and showed some strength around multiple bodies. Did well to stay balanced on some tight splits and find space around the paint. Also was able to knock down some pull-up jumpers and take some quality shots.     Koura really found some success operating in the midrange, showing some touch from that level off the catch and off the dribble, but also picking out a few tight windows to bounce the ball through for assists. He was consistent from the foul stripe and chipped in on the glass with some strong rebounds.     The Annie Wright freshman was one of the better slashers at the showcase. He has the length and athleticism to get down lanes and convert around defenders, but he also had some great moves outside to beat his man and then burst to the basket. Showed some legit acceleration in the open court to blow through defenses, and put the pressure on the interior defense resulting in a lot of trips to the foul line.     Quins-James is a kid with some length and enough of a handle to get by his man and slash inside. Mixed up his attack with some quick pull-ups, and was working hard to get out in front of the defense in transition. Showed that hustle going the other way too, helping to stop some fast breaks.     Bremerman is a very intuitive player who doesn't necessarily have that breakaway speed, but constantly was able to beat his man off the dribble with crafty moves and deceptive change of speeds. Made some great reactionary cuts and passes to cutters, and played on balance and in control.     One of the better hustle and glue guys from the showcase, Carpinito made a ton of little plays with his extra efforts. Moved well without the rock, was active on the glass, and made a few really nice defensive plays from the help side. Also dished out some key passes and was constantly looking and aware of his teammates cutting into the middle.
