This was my second time seeing him, and once again, he didn’t disappoint. He was outstanding in the one-on-one and three-on-three drills. During game play, I was especially impressed with how he controlled the pace and scored so effortlessly at all three levels. He also showed his craftiness on the defensive end.

He delivered an impressive performance this past weekend at our C2C Preps Midwest Regional Camp, showcasing his leadership, high-level playmaking ability, and steadily developing offensive skill set. His continued growth and overall impact on the game have established him as one of the most impressive guards in his class this fall.

He came into our C2C Preps Midwest Regional Camp locked in from the opening tip, showcasing his elite point guard skills, floor leadership, and ability to control the tempo offensively. He consistently attacked the paint, creating scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates while displaying continued improvement and efficiency with his three-point shooting. His combination of basketball IQ, playmaking, and offensive versatility made him one of the most impactful floor generals in his class throughout camp.

He was the difference maker in a star-studded matchup, attacking the paint, creating for teammates and stretching the defense with range beyond the college three-point line.

AJ Burns is quickly becoming one of the more notable lead guards in the Midwest, with his performance at the 7th Grade Jr. EYBL Peach Jam providing another example of why. His skill level is advanced, but Burns also plays with a strong sense of what is happening around him on the floor. He processes defensive coverages, makes good reads and has the versatility to create for himself or set up teammates. Burns brings a steady presence to the point guard position and can be counted on to make productive decisions with the basketball.
