Look for emergence from <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2885732' first='Brendan' last='Murphy']</strong> and<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='2401962' first='Porter' last='Dickson']</strong>, who PrepHoopsTN just published an <a href="https://prephoops.com/2026/08/the-big-interview-beardens-porter-dickson/">interview</a> with. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2881278' first='Damian' last='Cullom']</strong> is allegedly ready for his star turn. The hulking wing played a lot of point guard in June and college coaches took notice. His strengths are handle, offensive awareness, and versatility. Defenders just can not figure him out. Teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2401962' first='Porter' last='Dickson'] raves about Cullom's defensive abilities too. Bearden must continue to be an elite defensive team. It will not be an easy path, but they just might get "out of the east" again with a whole new bunch of players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline">McMinn County Notes</span></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McMinn County senior guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3657392' first='Jaxson' last='Gonzalez'] </strong>blazed around the court at the PrepHoopsTN Combine late May. His speed was incredible, making the undersized guard a true threat with and without the basketball. Look for Gonzalez and a uniquely deep McMinn County team to challenge for the top half of the seven-team district 4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Farragut Notes</span></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Vikings of Farragut enjoyed a State Tournament appearance in 2026, but graduated their top five scorers. Gone are Reid Vining, Parker Lane, Britton Lewis, Daniel Lanning, and Aidan Foshie. Look for mature combo guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3654539' first='Matthew' last='Dickens']</strong> to be the breakout star for Farragut this winter. Reporters raved about Dickens' AAU spring and summer. There are opportunities to be hand and Dickens is the most capable witin the program to capitilize.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Hardin Valley Notes</span></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It will be overlooked perhaps, but Hardin Valley Academy scored a massive win by keeping <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3344017' first='Rio' last='Curry']</strong> "home." The shooter electrified during his BMaze 15u season with outside shooting and volume scoring. The plan is for Rio to soar with HVA after starring for CAK last winter. Providence Christian Academy tried to get Rio in-house, but the move away from his family at this stage was not chosen. Curry looks to be a Top 25 guy in the Class of 2029 and HVA simply does not bring that kind of talent through their doors often. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
