Defense wins games, and these players made sure opponents felt their presence every time they stepped on the floor. Whether it was locking down assignments, creating turnovers, protecting the paint, or bringing relentless energy possession after possession, these prospects consistently impacted winning through their defensive effort and toughness.

Kannan Harper | 2033

Harper established himself as one of the most relentless defenders at camp with his nonstop motor and commitment to making every possession difficult for opponents. He rarely surrendered clean looks and consistently disrupted offensive rhythm through his effort, communication, and anticipation. His activity level extended to the glass, where he created extra possessions and second-chance opportunities through sheer hustle. While his smooth jumper and offensive skill set stood out, it was his defensive intensity and willingness to embrace physical play that separated him throughout the weekend.

Davion Demos | 2030

Demos set the tone defensively every time he stepped on the floor. He played with tremendous effort, staying low in his stance, moving his feet effectively, and consistently putting himself in position to make life difficult for opposing ball handlers. His anticipation and active hands generated steals, deflections, and forced turnovers throughout camp. Beyond the statistics, Demos brought a level of toughness and defensive pride that impacted the game on every possession. His ability to defend at a high level while also contributing offensively made him one of the more complete two-way players in attendance.

Jacob Brandon | 2030

Brandon combined physicality, athleticism, and effort to become one of the most disruptive defenders at camp. He consistently stayed attached to his assignment, moved well laterally, and used his strength to make opposing players uncomfortable. His instincts and quick hands allowed him to generate steals, challenge shots, and impact multiple areas of the game defensively. Offensively, his aggressive downhill style created pressure on defenses, but it was his versatility and ability to guard multiple positions that earned him recognition as one of the camp's top defensive performers.

Murphy Carroll | 2032

Carroll's motor never stopped running. The talented guard consistently brought energy, communication, and effort that elevated those around him. Defensively, he excelled at reading passing lanes, creating turnovers, and forcing opponents into difficult decisions. His anticipation and awareness allowed him to impact possessions before they fully developed, while his competitiveness ensured opponents rarely received easy opportunities. Carroll's ability to combine perimeter shooting with relentless defensive activity made him one of the more complete young prospects at camp.

Gerrick Willard | 2030

Willard's defensive impact was noticeable from the opening tip. His quick feet, disciplined positioning, and relentless pressure consistently forced opponents out of their comfort zones. He embraced challenging assignments and made ball handlers work for every inch of space. His ability to apply pressure without sacrificing defensive fundamentals allowed him to disrupt offensive flow and create mistakes throughout the weekend. Combined with his physical offensive style and ability to finish through contact, Willard showcased the traits of a true two-way competitor.

Guy Hill | 2031

Hill used his strength, patience, and basketball IQ to become a consistent defensive force throughout camp. His physical frame allowed him to compete with larger players, while his instincts and active hands helped him create turnovers and disrupt offensive actions. Hill consistently put himself in the right positions, understood defensive rotations, and played with a maturity beyond his years. His ability to read the game, stay composed under pressure, and capitalize on opportunities made him one of the most effective defensive players in attendance.

Closing Thoughts
While scoring often grabs the headlines, these players consistently proved the value of effort, toughness, communication, and defensive discipline. Their ability to impact winning possessions without needing the ball in their hands separated them from the field and earned them recognition as some of the top defensive enforcers at the Coast 2 Coast Preps National Camp.
