Mill Creek and Habersham Central square off during the GBCA Live Period in a matchup featuring several prospects looking to make an impression in front of college coaches. With both teams bringing a mix of athleticism, skill, and toughness, expect a highly competitive game from start to finish. Here are the players who stood out the most when the action tipped off.    Gaines is a lengthy wing who is a versatile scorer in the half court and is a tough cover when he steps on the court. He is a high level outside shooter with ready hands to let it fly and can provide a spark of offense from deep in a hurry. Off the ball he moves well to find open windows and be available for lead guard to kick out. Also had a reliable dribble drive game and does a great job of attacking weak closeouts trying to take away his perimeter game. Is valuable on the defensive end as well with his length and athleticism.      Bell is a tenacious guard who is very dangerous in the open floor with his speed and finesse. He often finds open teammates on the break or is going in to score and draw contact in the lane to create offense on his own. In the half court he's a reliable facilitator of the offense, as a true point guard he is composed in that role and does it very well. A reliable knock down shooter from outside as well which makes him not only a dangerous passer but a scoring threat in his own right. He can really contribute in a lot of ways offensively as I mentioned. On defense he reeks a lot of havoc on the ball causing opposing guards to turn it over or force shots. A valuable piece who I can see succeeding at the next level for a small college program.     Buck is a strong built lead guard who does a little bit of everything. I got to see him play AAU earlier this spring for Gwinnett Hoops and was very impressed with his motor and ability to effect winning in a lot of areas. He's highly skilled in the half court in the lead guard roll, playing out of ball screens and making some sweet no look passes that he makes look simple. Defensively he's strength causes a lot of problems for opposing guards, he forces a lot of turnovers as well as making ball handlers uncomfortable. Small schools should take a real look at this guy. Definitely one who can make an impact.     Huff is a savvy combo guard who can fill it up in a hurry. A true 3 level scorer who when he puts his head down to get to the rim is really tough to stop. Finishes in a variety of ways including through contact and over the trees down low. He has absolutely no fear whatsoever when it comes to getting in the lane to score. When it comes to his perimeter scoring he is quite effective as well. A pretty stroke with a nice set point and release makes him dangerous from outside. Definitely a prospect to watch this summer and should be turning heads as he goes into his senior campaign.     Ward is a strong stocky wing who can shoot the cover off of it when given space. I loved the motor he played with this afternoon, always getting after it on both ends of rebounding and diving on the floor for loose basketballs. A confident dribble drive game but rather than scoring he does so to get guys open looks from the perimeter. Does a solid job playing off two and finding wide open shooters that Habersham has in bulk. A glue guy piece that effects winning in ways that show up on the stat sheet but in a lot more ways that don't.     Maye is a long range shooter who can get hot in a hurry. He looks confident with the ball in his hands and looks to let it fly when he has an inch of space. Maye can play a variety of other roles as well. A valuable ball handler who doesn't turn it over often while facilitating an offense and contributing as a scoring threat off the ball. He's a valuable cutter and floor spacer who creates some easy looks inside for himself when moving off the ball. Definitely one to watch as the summer progresses and as May enters his senior year. His size and build is one that translates to the next level as well as his game.
