BJ LaFell Jr. has already established himself as one of the more intriguing young guards in the Houston area because of the energy and competitiveness he brings to both ends. He’s an aggressive point guard who can apply pressure off the bounce, get into the paint, and create offense without becoming one-dimensional as a scorer. Defensively, LaFell competes at the point of attack and has the quickness to make opposing ball handlers uncomfortable. There’s a natural confidence to the way he plays, and he’s already gaining meaningful experience in a winning varsity environment. His combination of athleticism, toughness and developing lead-guard ability gives him a chance to become one of the stronger guards in the Texas 2029 class.
