Here is a look at a group of young standout players who caught our attention on the final day of the Prep Hoops Next Summer Championship on Sunday in Kansas City.

Tristan Price (Earl Watson Academy 11U): A talented two-way guard who helped EWA run away to the championship in the 11U Division. He plays at both ends of the court with equal intensity and tenacity. On one play, he knocked down a 3-point shot, then hustled back as the first player back on defense to steal a long, lead pass. He has excellent defensive instincts and quick hands to get several steals. He can also create his own offense and get a bucket from all three levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='3601664' first='Nathan' last='Smith'] (SD Legacy 13U): A 6'0" shooting guard from South Dakota who was one of the most impressive perimeter shooters that we watched during the weekend. He was very good at reading defenses and coming off screens ready to shoot it with a quick release. He hit multiple 3-pointers in both games we watched him during the weekend. He also moved well without the ball and timed up his cuts perfectly, which resulted in numerous layups.

Amir Crump (D.U.T. Academy 13U): A small point guard from Minnesota who was big in terms of being a leader for his basketball team. He organizes his team and he stayed vocal throughout the game. When he team fell behind early, he stayed in his teammates ears and stayed positive until they fought their way back into the game. His skill level was excellent as he used his speed and quickness to create offense for everyone. He knocked down numerous 3-pointers off the dribble while dropping dimes to his teammates with his passing.

Kobe Spraggins (VP Basketball Academy 13U): A 6'1" forward from the Belleville (IL) area who has a big body and played with a nice combination of strength and finesse around the basket. He used his body to get good seals in the low post and for offensive rebounding position to score around the basket. He was also comfortable handling the basketball on the perimeter. He also stepped out and hit a step-back 3-pointer off the dribble.

Jerrell Wells (St Louis Grizzlies 11U): A talented combo guard from St. Louis who is quick and plays with good pace. He plays the game well when he is attack mode and he had some good finishes at different angles. He also used his good court vision to drop some nifty dimes in the open court.
