6/2/26: Scrappy. Brooks played with his head up, constantly surveying the floor. He reminds a bit of young Gunnar Lewis (CPA '25). Caudill is keen to include his teammates and provided sharp passes to the corners often. Limiting factor will likely be top-line speed. Quick with his feet, Brooks made a difference defending at the top of RHS's zone. He reacted to ball movement pretty quickly. Caudill played scrappy and did quite well when RHS decided to extend into a 3/4-court press. He defended and irritated without fouling in that formation. When Brooks was able to push the tempo the Raptors played effectively. This might be more challenging during the district season in January-February, but this time Brooks was exceptional at getting out on the break.

6/2/26: Moss showed off impressive agility. Apparently, he plays soccer also for Ravenwood. Moss kind of did anything RHS needed: Rebounded, scored a bit, defended in the 2-3 zone. Moss plays a little bigger than he is and RHS needs that with this roster. If the team does play man-to-man defense, and it looks unlikely based on this tiny sample size, then Moss will be able to guard just about every position save center.

6/2/26: [player_tooltip player_id='2851780' first='Karson' last='Boyce'] was the true upside talent in the game, a guy we spotted back in the winter. He stands around 6-foot-6 and essentially plays center for Community. Facing Ravenwood his challenge was to spot the gaps in the Raptor 2-3 zone and get a quick touch. Boyce's feet are "light". Despite working as a relatively slender hooper Boyce was adept at lowering the shoulder to clear some space down deep. It looked as though Boyce is working on his left-handed baby hook. This is a nice weapon to have. Going to that is, and will be, very dangerous for defenders.

Boyce forcefully blocked a driver with his stiff left arm early in the second half.

Ravenwood dug down and sprung the ball loose from Boyce's hands once. This is an area to work on...if you are going to go go or at least pump fake a kickout pass. The defenders gave away a little height, so he did not need to play above the rim to finish. Beyond high school that could become a necessity to finish in traffic. Boyce appears to be a NAIA-floor prospect.

6/2/26: Charlie impressed during a few viewings last winter, but frankly he was just ok against Ravenwood. Credit RHS with playing a confounding zone. It was difficult for Community High guards to decipher for almost the entire first half. Haskins is a better penetrator than he showed against the Raptors. His outside shot was not on though he did manage to limit turnovers against the extended pressure Ravenwood through on from time to time. Haskins is likely to battle for First Team All-District as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='2979284' first='Malachi' last='Hill'] (Bartlett) played fantastic earlier in the week. He was merely a role player for the State Champions in March, but the way he is playing Coach Real is going to be forced to give Hill even more offensive duties.
