The Hoopsource West Coast Spring Showcase took place this past weekend and we had the opportunity to drop by to watch a number of top local teams in action. While our focus was mainly on the 17U D1 division, we also caught some games at the other levels. There were a number of players we weren't overly familiar with coming into the weekend - here's a look at some of the faces fresh to us that caught our eye.

Catching our eye this weekend was Sprague, whose body type, fluidity in motion, and versatility helped Albany Elite 17U get some wins. The Roseburg junior is long and athletic at 6-foot-6 and he drew plenty of attention with his ability to run the floor and finish at the rim in transition. He's got plenty of potential as a big wing as his ball-handling and decision making continue to improve.

One of the top all-around scorers we saw at the 16U level was undoubtedly Gray. Playing up with his Albany Elite 15U squad, the West Salem freshman can really knock it down from three but also can create off the dribble and finish around the hoop. Some top scoring on Sunday.

We will be definitely keeping an eye on Tracy. For one, the Mountain View freshman definitely looks the part as he already has the physique and build at 6-foot-6 and that allows him to finish plays through all sorts of contact. While his offensive game is still developing, there's definitely lots of potential and growth ahead as he plays with Albany Elite15U this spring.

Solid big men always grab our attention and we liked what we saw out of Pawlowski over the entire weekend. With 3 & D Hoops he was very active in the paint, battling for boards and showing a soft touch around the hoop. The 6-foot-7 Lincoln post ran the floor fairly well and his lateral quickness will only improve over time and additional court time experience.

It could be argued that Lesyk was the most intense competitor we saw all weekend. The Sherwood guard was constantly in motion and on the defensive end, he didn't shy away from getting into his assignment's grill or fighting for the loose ball. He really pushed the ball in transition and had some nice scores at the basket through contact.

We were observing two games at once but each time we looked over at the game G.R.I.T.'s 15U squad was playing, it seemed like Thompson was making a play. The 6-foot-1 guard is a good all-around athlete and a bucket getter, capable of hitting shots from the perimeter or getting downhill off the bounce and finishing around the hoop.
