How the 2025 Top 50 fared in first year of college basketball

A look at how the top 50 players from the final Prep Hoops Wisconsin Player Rankings for the class of 2025 fared during their first year of college basketball. 1. Xzavion Mitchell, 6-6, F, Oshkosh North (Iowa State) Mitchell found playing time rather rare during his first year with Iowa State, a top 15 program for most of the season. He played in just seven of 37 games and averaged just 3.1 minutes per game. His averages of 1.0 ppg and 0.3 rpg figure to improve drastically next season as he continues to adapt to the speed and physicality of the college game with the Cyclones.   2. Amari Allen, 6-8, G/F, Ashwaubenon (Alabama) Allen turned in a huge freshman campaign for an Alabama program that finished 25-10. the versatile guard/forward averaged 11.4 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 3.1 apg while shooting 45 percent from the field. Allen has declared for the NBA draft but also has kept his options open for returning to Alabama for his sophomore season. 3. Jamarion Batemon, 6-3, G, Milwaukee Academy of Science (Iowa State) Batemon proved to be one of the best bench players for an Iowa State team that won 29 games. The combination guard with deep shooting range played in every game for the Cylones and averaged a healthy 15.5 mpg. He also contributed 6.6 ppg while shooting 37 percent from three-point range. Batemon figures to contend for a starting role for coach TJ Otzelberger's team in the fall. 4. Zach Kinziger, 6-3, G, De Pere (Wisconsin) It appeared as though Kinzinger would redshirt with the badgers, but coach Greg Gard pulled that option in late December. Kinzinger earned double-digit minutes in a couple of non-league games late in December, but then scored just 10 points the rest of the season. He averaged 1.3 ppg and 0.3 rpg in 16 appearances. 5. Gavin Gores, 6-10, F, Cumberland (Wyoming) Gores earned substantial playing time as a freshman for the Cowboys, averaging 17.7 mpg for a team that finished 18-15. The versatile 6-foot-10 forward averaged 7.3 ppg and 3.4 rpg while shooting 61 percent from the field. 6. Will Garlock, 7-0, F/C, Middleton (Wisconsin) Garlock played in 30 of 35 outings for Wisconsin as his size and mobility were assets for the Badgers. He finished the campaign averaging 1.1 ppg and 1.1 rpg while playing 6.6 mpg. He figures to contend for additional playing time on Wisconsin's frontline in 2026-27. 7. Aaron Womack, 6-6, F, Dominican (Syracuse) Womack redshirted during the 2025-26 season at Syracuse and then entered the transfer portal after the coaching change at the school. He later committed to coach Bart Lundy at UW-Milwaukee and will play for the Panthers next season. 8. Chris Davis Jr., 6-4, G, Sun Prairie East (College of Charleston) Davis had a solid freshman season for the College of Charleston as the prolific prep scorer netted 7.6 ppg for a team that won 21 contests. Davis also contributed 2.7 rpg and shot 41 percent from the field. He followed his head coach, Chris Mack, to South Florida following the season. 9. Devin Brown, 6-7, F, Milwaukee Academy of Science (Coastal Carolina) Brown did not see any action for Coastal Carolina as a freshman and then left the Sun Belt school to enter the transfer portal. He then transferred to Alabama A&M, a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. 10. Luka Momcilovic, 6-8, F, Pewaukee (St. Thomas) Momcilovic sat out the 2025-26 season as a redshirt with the Tommies. 11. Keegan Van Kauwenberg, 6-3, G, Kaukauna (Green Bay) Van Kauwenburg's playing time increased as the season progressed and the skilled wing averaged 9.6 mpg and 2.1 ppg while playing in 18 games for the Phoenix. 12. Javante Edwards, 6-1, G, Milwaukee Carmen Northwest (Canisius) Edwards earned big minutes for the Golden Griffins, averaging 23.7 mpg for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference school. He averaged 6.5 ppg, 1.9 rpg and 1.9 apg before leaving the school to enter the transfer portal. He will join Devin Brown at Alabama A&M next season. 13. Cooper Jesperson, 6-2, G, Eau Claire Memorial (Kansas State) Jesperson opted to play baseball at the next level and is a member of the Kansas State program. 14. Elijah Griffin, 6-2, G, Westosha Central (Cornell) Griffin sat out the 2025-26 season as a redshirt at Ivy League member Cornell. 15. Myles Herro, 6-3, G, Whitnall (Ohio State) Herro opted to redshirt this past season at Ohio State. 16. AJ Bender, 6-3, G, Lake Mills (Minnesota State Mankato) Bender played in six games for Mankato with one start. He averaged 17.3 mpg and 2.3 ppg before sustaining an injury in early January that sidelined him for the remainder of the season. 17. Brooks Hinson, 6-1, G, Marshfield (Northern Michigan) Hinson played in 34 games and averaged 18.9 mpg for Division II power Northern Michigan. He put up 4.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg for the Wildcats, who went 28-7 on the season. 18. Drew Murphy, 6-5, F, Verona (Northern Michigan) Murphy sat out the season as a redshirt and then entered the transfer portal following the season. 19. Pryce Gregoire, 6-6, F, De Pere (Northern Michigan) Gregoire appeared in five contests for Northern Michigan and averaged 0.6 ppg. Because he played less than 30 percent of the games, Gregoire is granted a redshirt season with the Wildcats. 20. David Bolden, 6-0, G, Nicolet (NJIT) One of the more pleasant surprises in the state's 2025 class, Bolden had a very strong freshman campaign for NJIT, a NCAA Division I school and member of the American East Conference. The league's Freshman of the Year, Bolden averaged 11.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists while staring very game. 21. Trevor Polite, 6-6, F, Homestead (Northern Michigan) Polite started 15 games and averaged 18.7 mpg for the Wildcats. He also averaged 3.7 ppg and 3.0 rpg before leaving the school and transferring to NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he will play for former Northern Michigan coach Matt Majkrzak. 22. Jake Hansenn, 6-1, G, Wauwatosa West (Oklahoma) Hansen played in three games for Oklahoma and did not score. He transferred to Milwaukee following the season. 23. Agape Keys, 6-2, G, Milwaukee Academy of Science (Whitewater) Keys played in six contests for Whitewater and averaged 1.5 ppg and 0.2 rpg for the Warhawks. 24. Andrew Rader, 6-10, F, Notre Dame Academy (Minnesota-Duluth) Rader played in four games for Duluth and averaged 2.0 ppg and 1.0 rpg for the Bulldogs. He played in less than 30 percent of the contests for Duluth and is given a redshirt season. 25. Jaydon Awe, 6-9, F, Stevens Point (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa) Awe played at the NJCAA Division I level for Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa and had a productive season, averaging 12 ppg and 10 rpg in league play. 26. Zach Behn, 6-7, F, Kewaskum (Parkside) Behn started 15 games and averaged 14.3 mpg for the Rangers. He contributed 3.4 ppg and 2.1 rpg as Parkside went 12-16. 27. Drew Daoust, 6-1, G, Southern Door (Stevens Point) One of the state's best all-time scorers with 3,096 points at Southern Door, Daoust averaged 5.9 mpg for the Pointers to go along with averages of 1.2 ppg and 0.7 rpg. 28. Devin Isaj, 6-6, F, Greendale (Bryant & Stratton) Isaj played eight games for Bryant & Stratton and averaged 4.0 mpg in those contests. He left the program around the Christmas break. 29. Matthew Buckman, 6-5, F, Cambridge (Hillsdale) Hillsdale finished 11-18 under Omro native Keven Bradley last season and Buckman played in just eight games, averaging 8.6 mpg and 3.0 ppg. 30. Anthony Rise, 6-0, G, Brookfield Central (Iowa State) Rise competed as a walkon at Iowa State and appeared in 11 games for the Cyclones, averaging 0.2 ppg and 0.5 rpg. 31. Kaden MacKenzie, 6-3, G, Waunakee (Platteville) MacKenzie appeared in all 28 games for Platteville, helping the Pioneers to an 18-10 record under coach Jeff Gard. MacKenzie averaged 18.9 mpg, 3.3 ppg and 2.0 apg. 32. Aiden Hawkinson, 6-3, G, Waupun (Oshkosh) Hawkinson played in all 26 games for the Titans and averaged 15.5 mpg. He also contributed 6.7 ppg and 2.1 rpg as Oshkosh went 17-9. 33. Logan Zahour, 6-3, G/F, Cedarburg (Parkside) Zahour appeared in 18 contests for Parkside and logged 12.7 mpg. He averaged 5.2 ppg and 2.6 rpg for the Rangers. 34. Amare Jackson, 6-4, G/F, Milwaukee Academy of Science (Western Nebraska CC) Jackson started 19 games and averaged 20.4 mpg for Western Nebraska Community College. He contributed 10.2 ppg and 3.5 rpg to his team. 35. Carter Wollan, 6-3, G, Amery (La Crosse) Wollan appeared in 19 games for the Eagles and logged 7.7 mpg. He averaged 2.3 ppg and 1.1 rpg as La Crosse went 24-7. 36. Isaiah Robinson, 6-0, G, Racine Park (Whitewater) Robinson averaged 7.6 mpg for the Warhawks, mainly due to his stellar defense. He contributed 1.1 ppg and 0.5 rpg for the Warhawks. 37. Jesse Napgezak, 6-3, G, Wausau East (Michigan Tech) Napgezek experienced a very successful freshman campaign with NCAA Division II power Michigan Tech. The Wausau East graduate played in 35 games, averaged 16.8 mpg to go along with 7.3 ppg and 3.4 rpg for the Huskies, who went 29-7 under Shawano native Josh Buettner. 38. Judson Henkel, 6-9, F, Janesville Craig (Dordt) Henkel started all 29 games for NAIA Dordt. He averaged 25.3 mpg, 11.8 ppg and 5.5 rpg for the Defenders, who finished 16-13 on the season. 39. Jack Lutz, 6-1, G, Whitnall (South Florida) Lutz is a key member of the South Florida baseball program. He is hitting .285 with 22 RBIs for the Bulls. 40. Roan Demovsky, 6-0, PG, De Pere (Eau Claire) Demvosky played in all 25 games for the Blugolds and averaged 17.2 mpg for coach Zach Malvik. He averaged 5.4 ppg and 1.9 rpg as Eau Claire went 14-11. 41. Roman Thompson (Richards), 6-5, G/F, Kettle Moraine (Eau Claire) Thompson played in 25 games for the Blugolds and averaged 7.6 mpg, 1.9 ppg and 1.6 rpg. 42. Carson Bauer, 6-4, G, West Bend West (La Crosse) Bauer started eight games and averaged 17.4 mpg for La Crosse. He contributed 3.6 ppg and 2.1 rpg for the Eagles. 43. Jamison Beesley, 6-3, PG, Waterford (Menlo) Beesley played in 25 games at NCAA Division II Menlo College in California. He averaged 10.5 mpg, 1.4 ppg and 1.7 rpg. 44. Jaxson Moss, 6-7, F, Racine Park (Community Christian College) Moss had a productive freshman campaign at Community Christian College in Texas, although no stats were found online. 45. Zach Orr, 5-10, G, Rice Lake (Stevens Point) Orr sat out the 2025-26 season as a redshirt with the Pointers program. 46. Carter Koch, 6-5, G, Oconto Falls (Eau Claire) Koch played in just three games for the Blugolds of Eau Claire in 2025-26. 47. Eli Lindsey, 6-5, G/F, Mineral Point (Viterbo) Lindsey is a member of the men's golf program at Viterbo University in La Crosse. 48. Ayden Phillips, 6-6, F, Almond-Bancroft (Eau Claire) Phillips is a tight end in the football program at Eau Claire. 49. Grant Chandonais, 6-5, G, Stevens Point (Minnesota) Chandonais is no longer playing basketball and attend the University of Minnesota. 50. Liam Lubkeman, 6-9, F, Westosha Central (Parkside) Lubkeman played in just two games for Parkside. He qualifies as a redshirt and would have four years of eligibility left with the Rangers.
