Williams appeared to be at least 6'3" now and held down what seemed to be a point-forward role for a solid Jay Academy 3SSB squad. He's got some stockiness to his frame to go along with his height, firmly establishing him as a Swiss army knife who's capable of fulfilling guard duties or serving as a more traditional small forward. Beyond his physical tools, his on-court leadership stood out. I didn't get a chance to gauge Williams' vocal leadership, but he was surely the type of player who led by example. He contributed on both sides of the court, providing offensive sparks to start extended runs and taking pride in his defensive role. As a facilitator, Williams looked most comfortable using his steady pace to get in the paint and make decisions from there. His strength came in handy in this feat and allowed him to absorb bumps along the way. He notably pulled off a clean pinoy step through the lane. He also wasn't afraid to shoot open shots from deep.

Nyzire, who was regarded as "Naz" throughout the contest, is a speedy guard who plays with a lot of heart and intensity for Jay Academy. He showed no mercy to his opponent from tip off to the end of regulation and seemed to be fueled by his ability to cause chaos. More often than not, Naz was the culprit of fast break opportunities or at least at the scene of the crime thanks to his punitive ball pressure. He thrived in the open court by either finishing strong through traffic or finding open teammates by dishing no-look dimes. His buzzer-beating 3PT field goal as the clock wined down just before half time seemed fitting given his effort.

Michael is a rising star in Kentucky's 2029 class. His consistency and drive to play the game the right way makes him standout amongst his peers and could foreshadow a long basketball career. He's more than capable of filling a stat sheet, but he also does the things that don't show up there really well. The necessary fundamentals like setting solid screens, boxing out, and defending without fouling all have a major impact on winning and are all things that Michael excels at. His evolving confidence and skillset only add fuel to the fire. He flexed his strength in KY Ambition's Saturday afternoon matchup and finished the game with several buckets generated by his ability to collect offensive rebounds and finish through contact. He also flashed his ability to stop out and knock down open shots from deep.

It's been at least a year since I've seen Gage in person, and I was happy to see his progress. He showed a lot of heart in a tough Saturday afternoon matchup for the new-look [program_tooltip program_id='2076948' first='Louisville' last='Magic']. Although he came off the bench, he proved to be their most reliable facilitator and offensive weapon down the stretch in this game. He generated back-to-back offensive opportunities on several occasions including a stretch during which he connected on a pull-up midrange jumper and then secured a backcourt steal on the very next play for an easy layup. Gage also flashed lead guard abilities as a facilitator as he slithered to the paint through traffic to find open teammates. His speed, ball handling and passing abilities make for an intriguing player to keep an eye on in a deep KY 2029 class.
