McClancy - Fordham Prep Recap And Stars

McClancy traveled to the Bronx to take on the Rams of Fordham Prep in the “A” match up. The Rams went into the game at 6-6 and McClancey was 5-9. At the start of the game it looked like Fordham Preps size was just going to be too much for McClancy. With 6 offensive rebounds and scoring 10 out of their 13 first quarter points gained a 13-9 advantage at the end of the first. Finbar Duffy and [player_tooltip player_id='2027755' first='Brian' last='Kapfer'] seemed to get everything early. But as the game went on McClancy with their outstanding guard play never were out of it. [player_tooltip player_id='2234124' first='Brayden' last='Ojeda'] showed the ability to get both feet into the lane and show off his pull up mid range game. Justin Williams kept all his magic for the end getting 10 points in the 4th quaters. He nailed threes and weaved his way to the rim including one of them off a steal. [player_tooltip player_id='2895254' first='Liam' last='Farrell'] and Quinn McAnaney made clutch baskets down the stretch for Fordham who looked like they were going to break a few times but came up with a big stop or rebound to secure the victory 56-51.    Really good at getting into the paint and displaying his excellent pull up game. Excellent handle with the ability to drive the ball off the wing going left and getting shots off right handed. Shoots it well on the move. Makes tough buckets.     In this game he showed ice water with his clutch baskets late in the game. Shoots the three really well. Extremely quick with the ball in his hands. Has a quick low base hard to knock off the ball. Not the tallest player on the floor but still hunts and corrals rebounds.     Likes to shoot the three off the catch. Volume shooter. Showed a nice side step off a shot fake to drain a three. Works hard on the boards.     Makes tough baskets inside through contact. Has good hands catching the ball in traffic and finishing. Gained good position on a o/b play and scored with power inside.       Made a lot of cutch gutsy plays. Hit some big threes. Showed the ability to drain open threes.       Can get to the rim and make tough baskets. Weaves his way into the lane and can create scoring opportunities around the basket.
