Dutler brings the type of complementary skill set that can fit into virtually any lineup. He spaces the floor well and has no hesitation letting it fly when defenses give him an opening, particularly in catch-and-shoot situations. His shooting forces defenders to stay connected, which creates additional room for teammates to attack. On the other end, he competes physically and embraces his defensive assignments. He doesn’t need to dominate possessions to make an impact, and that understanding of his role is a valuable trait at this stage. His combination of shooting, effort, and team-oriented play gives him plenty of room to grow.

Dutler projects as the type of player every coach enjoys having on the floor. He spaces the floor extremely well, shoots confidently off the catch, and rarely hesitates when opportunities present themselves. His ability to knock down perimeter shots forces defenses to stay attached, opening driving lanes for teammates. Defensively, he embraces physical matchups and competes with consistent effort, giving him value well beyond scoring. He understands his role, plays within the flow of the offense, and makes winning plays that don’t always appear in the box score. His dependable two-way approach should continue attracting attention as he develops.
