Roster Breakdown: This roster this year is loaded. You have guys at the guard spot who can make plays as well as posts who can both shoot the ball and go to work on the inside. It’s a really tall group with a few of the best players in the nation with Keion Brooks Jr. and Trayce Jackson-Davis. This is a team that has a really good coach and will be able to go deep in tournaments. The guys on the bench are skilled too, so there isn’t much drop off anywhere.
Guy You Have To Watch: Trayce Jackson-Davis (Center Grove)
Jackson-Davis was on a tear this past high school season and I think that he will get even better this summer. His stock is exploding right now and a year playing the highest level of competition in the nation will help that. He’s a guy that can take over games with his athleticism and scoring ability. He’s a fun guy to watch because he can do almost anything on a basketball court.
Best Bet To End Up Breaking Out: Ethan Brittain-Watts (Culver)
Brittain-Watts played really well in the State Finals game and I think he’ll be able to carry that forward into the AAU season. I have always wanted to see a bit more from him and on this team I think we will see it. He strikes me as a guy that could be really, really good, but I just haven’t seen him put it all together quite yet. Will all of the players on this team that will garner attention, he will be able to break his man down a bit more and make plays on the ball. Should be a great summer for him.
Who Should Be Watching: D1
Every D1 program should be watching this team. There are LM guys all the way up to HM players and some of the lower projected guys could even move up the ranks with a big summer this year. Isaiah Thompson (Purdue) and John Michael-Mulloy (Butler) are guys that are already committed and I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of these guys committed this summer to programs. This is going to be a team that a lot of HM coaches watch closely.
