Class A All-State Team
Prep Hoops takes a look at the Class A All-State Team. The Palmetto State selects 16 players from throughout the state for each classification to make All-State.
Player of the Year : Darius Taylor (2019) Hemingway
Taylor helped the Tigers win back to back State Championships. The Tigers defeated Ridge Spring-Monetta 71-59 . Taylor scored 16 points in the game. Taylor recorded 11 interceptions on the gridiron this past fall.
Darius “JuJu” Williams (2019) Hemingway
Williams was a beast in the paint for the Tigers vs the Trojans. JuJu finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Williams a left-handed undersized post player has received a football offer from Chattanooga.
Kelton Talford (2020) – Great Falls HS – Carolina Pressure AAU
Talford helped the Red Devils to a (18-5) season. Talford averaged 19.4 ppg and 11.1 rebounds.
Shon Lowe (2018) – Ware Shoals HS
Lowe went over 1,000 career points in his last high school game.
Jamane Peterson Lowcountry Leadership (Hollywood)
Peterson helped his squad to the 3rd round of the playoffs before losing. Peterson averaged 15.3 ppg this season.
Marlow Gilmore (2019) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler – Columbia Hoyas
Gilmore is a freakish athlete for the Trojans. Gilmore averaged 20.5 ppg and 13.2 rebounds this season.
Roderick Pam (2018) – Bethune-Bowman
Pam will play in the Prep Hoops/Swanny’s Roundball Review Unsigned Senior Event on Sunday March 25 in Sumter @ Lakewood HS. Pam scored 33 points in his last game at home during the regular season on Senior Night vs Branchville HS.
Kobe Praylow (2018) – Hannah-Pamplico HS
Praylow will attend Methodist University (NC) (NCAA D3) and play football next season. Praylow playing football for the first time this season finished with 1,334 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. Praylow even went over 1,000 career points on the hardwood late in the season for the Red Raiders.
Mateo Durant (2018) – McCormick HS
Durant is headed to play football for the Duke Blue Devils.
Jayden Byrd (2020) – High Point Academy (Spartanburg)
Byrd averaged 17.2 ppg this season and helped the Grizzlies to a 17-8 season.
Mikael Fourney (2018) – Lewisville HS
Fourney has signed to play football at Mars Hill (NC) (NCAA D2) next season.
Shane Hammonds (2018) – McBee HS (pictured on front)
Hammonds a off guard helped knock off Williston-Elko HS on the road in the opening round of the playoffs. Hammonds finished his career with over 1,000 points.
Desmond Murray (2019) – Williston-Elko HS – Upward Stars-Columbia
Murray will have a new AAU team this coming spring after playing with Aiken Select last summer. Murray playing out on the perimeter more this season for the Blue Devils averaged 18.3 ppg and 7.4 rebounds.
KeShawn Toney (2019) – Williston-Elko HS
Toney recently committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks to play football. Don’t expect Toney to play basketball next season for the Blue Devils.
Tyson Bettis (2018) – Ridge Spring-Monetta
Bettis a quarterback and guard on the basketball team had a great career for the Trojans. Bettis helped get the Trojans to the State Championship for the first time since 1955. Bettis has received football interest from St Andrew’s (NC) (NAIA).
BJ Fuller (2018) – Cross HS
Fuller averaged 14.9 ppg and 10.3 rebounds this season for the Trojans.
