When Louisiana players go head-to-head with our neighbors from Texas, bragging rights are always on the line. Calvary Baptist has a reputation for hosting high-level competition, and this event certainly lived up to that standard. Here are some of the players who showcased their elite skill in Shreveport on a memorable day of hoops.

Gray came to Louisiana and dropped 26 points in a big win over the Peabody Warriors. Gray is a big kid and he uses his power to impose his will on the court. He is hard to stop because most players just cant deal with his muscular frame. He plays the game with style, but is also a brute. He wants the physical contact of the game and will always be able to score because of this. He is a D1 athlete and will be fun to watch at the next level.

Rosenthal was a problem from the tip and turned the possible showcase into an absolute dawg fight. He was physical from start to finish, and his skill is notable. He is a solid shooter, elite playmaker, and a true problem on defense. If your PG does not want to play physical, Mr. Rosenthal is going to have a fun day antagonizing him. He is a gamer, and Peabody will be a contender, just as in years past, hanging their hat on the defensive side of the ball.

Coe was impressive on the day, playing off the ball and making plays on the move. In a time when the three-ball is king, Coe played the simple game. If you are not big enough to guard him. He is going to get to his spot and score. He shoots a nice mid-range ball and works his way to the goal to finish through contact. He has obviously put in the weight room work and uses his size to score. He dropped 17, and hit each of his 5 free throw attempts. However you want it, he is going to score the ball on guards that can't match his physicality.

Durant is a player that I watched in the summer, and his skills have continued to evolve. He is a big man, and as an underclassman, he looked comfortable in the big-time match-up. He is a true post player who controls the boards with his size. He is active on both sides of the ball and plays with a high motor. He is one to watch in the 2028 class and will surely continue to develop at Peabody.

Blake is a name to know, and even though the box score did not jump out for the freshman, his on-court intangibles were visible. He is an elite ball handler and playmaker with a firm understanding of pace and a high basketball IQ. He looked comfortable on the court and handled the full-court pressure like an upperclassman. The jump from middle school to high school is a transition, but Blake has already demonstrated his comfort in a high-energy game setting.
