NorCal has a good number of prospects who play quality basketball. Logistics and other factors prevents us from seeing these prospects more. It's important for prospects to play where they can be seen, or with a club that puts them in a position to be seen by coaches, and scouts. Here are some of our under the radar prospects who will be key contributors on their high school team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1707486' first='Marcel' last='Ward']: Standing 6'9, he's an experienced player, has a size advantage at this level, being one of the taller prospects in the Sacramento area. He's made efforts to improve his strength, conditioning, and movement. College coaches have shown interest. He's filled his frame a bit with more activity in the paint on both sides. He'll alter shots, get his share of rebounds. He can be a target in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812762' first='Michael' last='Kirby'] Jr: Heading into his senior season, playing along the side of a DI player. Kirby has room to expand his overall game. He averaged 11.8 ppg, last season. He's sneaky athletic, long arms, good hops, and footspeed. We've seen him run the offense up top with patience, and passing, he'll find cutters, feed the post. He work off ball, moving, cutting and finding mates. He can get to the basket, finish around the rim. He can defend multiple position.

Jayson Powers : Last season he was one of the most productive prospects in the San Joaquin Section racking up 17pts, 9 rebounds a game. He played against quality competition in the Spring, and Summer. The last time we saw him play, he dropped 30pts in a variety of ways. Standing 6'5 and growing he's comfortable, handling and creating his shots out on the perimeter with limited dribbles. He'll create space to get his 3-point shots, he has the length and moves to score around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2268982' first='Braylon' last='Franklin']: He had a productive Spring and Summer as part of the rotation on NorCal's top team (Salesian College Prep). He did well. With the transfer of two rotation players, Franklin has a real opportunity to fill the gap. He's 6'4 has good strength, plays hard on the defensive side of the ball. He has the footspeed, and lateral movement to trap and defend away from the basket. He'll help rebound, run the court, and attack if there's an opening.

[player_tooltip player_id='2268760' first='Dillon' last='Casey']: The experienced combo guard is set to lead this team in different ways, probably scoring and assists. He'll be expected help to run the team in half-court sets, bring the ball up court handling ball pressure. He's an excellent passer/ball mover. He's a threat to drop 3's around the perimeter, using screens with a good release, and coming down for rhythm 3's in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2348551' first='Mawa' last='Silvestro']: He'll be in his comfort zone, getting the opportunity to handle point guard duties as a 6'5 guard with his high school team (Urban) in San Francisco. He's a big guard with vision, passing, and moves off the dribble to get to the basket, or pull-up for short jumpers. He'll work across the lane getting paint touches, turning, using his length to score inside. He has foot speed to defend, he'll rebound and keep it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2967475' first='Alec' last='Day']: A solid body prospect plays settled, at a good pace. He'll show his all around skill set, not just scoring points, but handling ball pressure at times, making good passes around the perimeter, and making cuts to the basket. He has the ability to create shot opportunities for himself with hard drives from the perimeter. He hits short jumpers, spot up for 3-pointers, can work the post area. He'll boxout going for rebounds, and defend bigger players inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2059711' first='Tariq' last='Lofton']: After transferring into Casa Roble he'll have a real shot at lifting his status as a quality point guard in NorCal. He'll run an offense at the next level. High IQ, has all the tools to run the teams offense, and generate buckets for himself when needed. He's probably a pass first point guard, but can generate buckets. He has the vision, and passing ability to spot shooters, cutters regularly. He could help this team make another deep run in Division IV.
