About Quintin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a floor general, I try to control the tempo through decision-making, excellent court vision, grit, determination, and leadership on and off the court. Very aggressive defensively and offensively scoring efficiently on all three-levels deep, midrange, or at the rim. A quick first step and explosive handles. I try to break down defenders and create opportunities for both me and teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a team-first mentality, because I believe the game is bigger than just me I want everyone to shine and contribute. I love defense because it pushes me to test my toughness at my size, while also forcing my opponent to prove if they want it as badly as I do. My biggest motivation is success. Being overlooked because of my size is nothing new, but when I step on the court, I show I belong.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm currently very active as I volunteer at my high school and throughout the city, mentoring young basketball players through our various summer camps. I'm also very spiritual so I believe that nothing happens without God, this is who I lean on the most when times may get dark. I'm also a 3.8 student because education is the way to going anywhere in this sports world.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I'm more than just a player, I feel I am a leader who inspires teammates, elevates team play, and thrives under pressure. My dad taught me that "men just get things done", so I try to hold my self accountable and to a higher standard so that I can speak life into my teammates, so they will listen, when I hold them accountable I'm a winner, and I'm very competitive. I work well under pressure.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The only significant challenged I've faced is me. For the longest I've questioned whether I was good enough because of my size, but last year when I invested in my mind, my craft, and most importantly God, things turned around for me, and my game unlocked along with everything else that came with it.

What type of college are you looking for?

I don't have a specific college I would like to attend, I just want an offer, so that I can prove I'm elite. The ideal situation is D1, but I believe that any offer given is a blessing because it's all free education. So, if I have to go JUCO, D2 to get to my goal, then I'll start there to get to the ultimate goal of playing professionally long term.
