-There was a lot to love from the Hereford junior in a league matchup with Catonsville at home. Daw started things off with a live dribble 1-handed dime to the cutter off the back pick set, showed active hands poking out several steals both on and off the ball in transition, executed a nice baseline drive to hit the skip pass to the shooter in the opposite corner for a wide open 3, stole the ball back after a teammate committed a turnover to switch ends quickly and score at the rim, drove the lane to land in the paint on 2 and hit the and1 floater through the contact, ripped an opponent at halfcourt and threw down a 2-handed dunk at the other hand, and had a nice dump off to his big in the short corner after blowing past his matchup to get to the middle of the paint. Love his grit and moxie as a smaller guard that isn’t afraid to mix it up in scrums to secure a loose ball or long rebound.

-The chemistry with his PGs was undeniable as a knockdown shooter that timed his lifts from the corner/wing exceptionally well to mirror his teammates’ drives to the rim. Daw showed his ability to stretch the floor with four made 3s in the second game along, confidently stepping in to each look from different points on the floor. Loved the intangibles that I saw from Daw as well as he was hustling hard in the halfcourt for offensive rebounds, sprinting back in transition to contest shots or force the opponent to dribble the ball back out, flying around defensively in the halfcourt to stunt at ballhandlers after they beat a teammate off the dribble or to track down a loose ball, and rotating quickly out to shooters to make them put the ball on the floor. Daw’s best play came on a double crossover where he then split the screen to lay it in with the left off the window.

Joseph caught heat during 5 on 5 play and did a great job of adjusting to the defense. Once Joseph drilled a few open three-pointers and the defenders closed in, he was able to put the ball on the floor and keep his head up to find a better opportunity. Seemed to make the right play in most scenarios and played with a level of maturity that caught our scouts eyes. Deadly shooter from the perimeter that shows willingness to take a dribble or two and spot back up closer inside. Impressive and consistent shooting display from the guard.
