2028 Risers and Newcomers at AOG Camp

PH NorCal was at the Attitude of Gratitude High Academic Camp August 16 at St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco. This was a good group of stock risers, and newcomers for the class of 2028.    He's a rising prospect who'll go up in our next rankings update. The combo guard did it all this event, keeps defender off balance at times. He repeatedly used his dribble drive moves to go by defenders, to score in different ways around the basket, left, and right hand. He dropped a couple of mid-range jumpers. He plays with patience, helps rebound, and shows he can defend at a high level.     Maher is an improving prospect who could rise in the next rankings. He showed a versatile set of skills that allowed him to play inside, and out with some effectiveness. He looks to put up open 3's if open, good form, moved the ball around the court. He can drive into the paint on occasion. He gives good effort in the paint, going up strong, hitting the paint jumper. He's a rebounder, and will defend his size in the paint. A good court runner.     He's long, stronger than he looks, plays with energy, and emotion. He has the tools to be an effective player. He has foot speed, and movement, can defend multiple positions. He did some handling in transition after rebounding, went coast to coast a couple of times, he made passes up court. He got offensive rebounds with strong put backs. He'll slash and finish at the rim or dunk it, use a dribble, or two to get closer.       He's an up and coming prospect who needs some seasoning. He did some good things on the court. At 6'4 he's a growing body, with a skill set that should improve going forward. He had good effort around the basket on both ends of the court. He used his size for points, and rebounds. He could be a contributor on the varsity rebounding, and defending, as his offensive skill set grows.    2028 Newcomers    Li is a newcomer and a transfer into Valley Christian. He has a good set of handles, shows he can create with nifty movements to get by defenders, and vision to deliver passes. He showed his overall arsenal as guard with quick dribbles, pulling ups for mid-range, and 3's off the dribble. There's some foot speed to stay on ball as a defender. We'll see more     Standing 5'5 full of confidence, and lots of ways to generate buckets. He was one of the hardest players to stay in front on the day. His leverage, speed, slick ball handling, and sheer determination made him one of the top newcomers for the day. He readily went by defenders, left or right finishing with both hands for points in the paint. Floaters, jumpers, and high off the glass layups.     He has the ability to spot up around the perimeter, shot ready to drop 3ptrs. He runs in transition, set himself up in the corners for catch 3's, he hit a couple. He's a decent ball handler finding his way to the basket for drives from the top. At 6'0 he snuck in for offensive rebounds. He pushed it up on occasion after securing the rebound going coast to coast.     He seems to be a player that can shoot 3-pointers. During one stretch of a game, he hit back to back 3-pointers, from the wings. He used his body to protect the ball on drives into the paint. He didn't mind working his way in to help rebounds on both sides. He'll go on the Watch List.     A new prospect we'll track, and put on the Watch List going forward. He played good all around basketball, has a chance to be a contributor on the varsity at his school. He had good passing, found cutters going to the basket, he drove for for kick-out passes. He has balance, plants off two going up in the paint. Standing 6'0 he rebounds from the guard position.
