Film Room: 2026s Part 2

There were over 100 prospects who submitted High School, Grassroots, or Camp Highlights for review and all will be featured in an article on Prep Hoops. Check out my thoughts on the second group of 2026s and watch their film in the post from @AndrewBaxleySC on X (Twitter):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2430899' first='Khalid' last='Sherman'] (Loris) - Leading off Part 2 of our 2026 Film Room is [player_tooltip player_id='2430899' first='Khalid' last='Sherman']. Sherman lived in the paint early on in his highlight reel, getting constant downhill penetration off the dribble. Khalid is good around bodies and finishes strongly through them or creatively around them. He also showed some good production in transition, again using his finishing ability to turn defense into offense. Sherman is a capable outside shooter as well, which keeps defenses honest when he plays on or off-ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2465100' first='Shayne' last='Pinckney'] (Ashley Ridge) - Pinckney submitted some film from his AAU Season with Team Ford - a team with multiple stock risers thanks to a big Summer. Shayne is one of those names to watch, as he often runs the show on offense from his Point Guard position. He balances scoring and passing well because of his ability to knock down threes, finish off two in the lane, spread the ball around the perimeter, or find bigs under the rim. Pinckney also displayed good defensive instincts and some scrappiness on the glass. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ma'Ori Henderson</strong> (Mountain View Prep) - Ma'Ori is one of the most underrated defenders in South Carolina's 2026 Class, and most certainly stood out on that end of the floor on film. He moved his feet well to contain the ball, rotated and recovered to block shots, and caused havoc with his active hands and exceptional ball skills. On the offensive end, the lefty pairs unselfish passing with athletic finishing, but if he can add a consistent jump shot, that will help bring his game to the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2467377' first='Mike' last='Smalls'] (Cane Bay) - Mike is a thick-framed, 6'6" Forward from Cane Bay HS and Play Tough 843. For his size, Mike moves and gets off the floor well for his size, particularly as a rim protector, where he excels. He has very deceptive recovery speed that punishes lazy finishes and uses his size and bounce to high point floaters and get layups before they hit the glass. Smalls will also work hard on the offensive glass, punish mismatches with his back to the basket, and make good passes out of the post. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2422736' first='Gavin' last='Brown'] (Newberry) - On his High School and AAU highlight reels, Brown showed tremendous development with his perimeter shooting. This is an attribute that can turn him into a very important asset for Newberry High School and allow him to play on or off the ball. He frequently knocked down catch-and-shoot threes, doing so both open and contested and from all over the floor. His reel also portrayed him as a strong driver, tough finisher, and active defender, which matches what we saw from him this Spring with Masked Men. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2851494' first='Ben' last='Reese'] (Chesnee) - Speaking off shooting, that is exactly what Ben did on his 2024-25 Season Highlights. He was the Class 2A leader in 3PM, capitalizing when defenders turned their attention towards his talented teammates. Reese spaces the floor from the wings and in the corners, staying shot-ready with his hands and getting the ball up quickly with his compact shot motion. Ben is definitely a college-level shooter, so it's only a matter of time until the right school sees him and pulls the trigger on an offer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2881048' first='Gannon' last='Parker'] (Westminster Catawba) - Rounding out the list is [player_tooltip player_id='2881048' first='Gannon' last='Parker'], a scrappy and speedy lead guard from Westminster Catawba Christian School. He has a well-rounded skillset that includes a tight handle, crafty finishing, tough on-ball defending, and excellent passing vision. Parker is the type of Guard who raises the level of his teammates, which was on display throughout the grassroots season with Warriors Elite and in the film he submitted for review. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2025 Prep Hoops Carolinas The Expo and Freshman Showcase are fast approaching!
