Rounding out the 2025 June Scholastic Period was the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Southeast Regional, hosted at Lakepoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia. Although I am from South Carolina and my main focus was to highlight the Palmetto-State prospects in attendance, there were some players from Florida and Georgia who caught my eye too. Check them out:

Headlining the list is [player_tooltip player_id='2477186' first='Khalid' last='Worthy']. I was extremely impressed by the talent of this Holy Innocents (GA) group, especially considering the loss of Gatorade State Player of the Year Caleb Wilson to the College Ranks. Khalid holds multiple D1 Offers in both Football and Basketball, and it wouldn't surprise me if he is a star in either - or both - at the next level. Worthy stood out at both ends of the floor in Saturday's first game, showcasing his handle and polish on offense and his strength and length on defense. He also made some very athletic plays to protect the rim and catch lobs. Khalid tallied 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Manny was the Georgia prospect I was most familiar with coming into the event, having watched him multiple times last summer on the 3SSB Circuit. Green is a strong and athletic wing who will fit right in wherever he decides to play his college ball. Manny started off a matchup with Dorman (SC) strong with a designed look for a straight-away three, then looked to use his size advantage with a right-handed hook and mid-range pull-up. He also showed flashes of his overall skill with a block turned into a transition dunk late in the game. Green put up 23 points on 3 3PM in the Game Two win.

Whitehart caught fire off the bench to provide Milton (GA) with some late life against Columbus (FL). He finished with 6 3PM, all of them coming in the second half, and also earned a couple of trips to the free-throw line to post a game-high 22 points. Graham's shooting was exactly the spark his team needed, as he quickly got his feet set and stayed shot-ready with his hands. Whitehart was also a weapon in transition, on sets, and from very deep range.

First up of the Florida Standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1549097' first='Cello' last='Jackson']. He was on the other side of Whitehart and played less than 3/4s of the game because of how strongly his team started. The Explorers will again be one of the best teams in the Country, and Cello is a big reason why. He is a physical specimen, listed at 6'4" with a 6'11" wingspan and a very sturdy frame. This will allow him to hold up against bigger guards and wings at the next level and be a defensive weapon at the current level. Jackson had a couple of awesome defensive possessions in the matchup with Milton (GA), and even drew a charge in the win.

I was impressed with Boyd in a comfortable win for Windmere (FL) over TL Hanna (SC). Lucas caused the Yellow Jackets problems with his perimeter shooting - both with movement and catch-and-shoot threes. He showed that he could play either position in the backcourt with his shooting and ability to play off closeouts, as well as with his floor vision and handle under pressure. When playing on the ball, Lucas made a couple of key passes in transition and when defenses rotated to him. Boyd finished with 17 points on 3 3PM.

Rounding out the list of my Florida and Georgia Favorites from the GBCA Live Southeast Regional is Miami Palmetto (FL)'s [player_tooltip player_id='2674723' first='Jaiden' last='Horton']. Jaiden was very active on the defensive end of the floor, annoying opposing ball-handlers with his constant pressure. Jaiden frequently picked up at half court and moved his feet to force an opponent into tough positions. Jaiden is also a capable offensive threat, particularly from the perimeter. He knocked down three threes in a win over Cane Bay (SC), including a designed BLOB to get him open in the corner.
