. As a young guard with an attacking mindset, Hudson consistently puts opposing defenders in uncomfortable positions by relentlessly getting downhill and forcing action in the paint. His ability to beat defenders off the dribble and get two feet in the lane is one of his most translatable strengths at this stage of his development.
From a recruiting perspective, Hudson’s greatest asset is his ability to create rim pressure. He possesses a quick first step, plays with confidence, and shows little hesitation attacking gaps in the defense. Once he gets into the paint, he demonstrates touch and body control as a finisher, routinely converting through contact and around larger defenders. His aggressive style creates scoring opportunities not only for himself but also puts opposing defenses into rotation.
What immediately stands out to evaluators, however, is Hudson’s defensive impact. He is the type of guard who can change the tempo of a game with his effort and intensity on that end of the floor. Applying relentless pressure for 94 feet, Hudson consistently disrupts opposing ball handlers, forcing rushed decisions, turnovers, and uncomfortable possessions. His motor, competitiveness, and willingness to defend the length of the court are qualities college coaches covet because they often translate regardless of level.
Hudson’s defensive presence extends beyond simply applying pressure. He takes pride in guarding the basketball, embraces physical play, and competes on every possession. For a player his age, his defensive instincts and toughness are advanced traits that separate him from many of his peers.
As he continues his development, the next major step in Hudson’s progression will be improving his perimeter shooting consistency. Currently, defenders are more comfortable sagging into the paint and daring him to shoot from the outside, attempting to neutralize his downhill attack. Developing a reliable jump shot will dramatically increase his effectiveness by forcing defenders to respect him beyond the arc, creating even more driving lanes and making him a much more complete offensive threat.
The foundation is already in place. Hudson possesses the aggressiveness, defensive intensity, rim pressure, and competitive nature that college recruiters prioritize in young guards. If his perimeter shooting continues to evolve, he projects as a highly intriguing two-way backcourt prospect with the ability to impact games on both ends of the floor and attract increasing attention from collegiate programs throughout his high school career.

He works to get downhill and put pressure on the defense, but also knows how to use his weapons on the court. He has the skills and the mentality to do it, and if he can bring it all together would make him a highly visible point man.
