Regardless of where they played last year, here are some guys who will have a chance to impact varsity next year…

[player_tooltip player_id='2472332' first='Cartier' last='Barnes'] (6'0/SG/'27/Clay-Chalkville HS)

IG: cartiier.dge

X: @barnescartier2

Ranking: #38

Cartier established himself as a reliable combo guard for a team that was in the hunt throughout last year. Though he was one of the younger guys on the team, he proved to be a clutch performer in clutch situations. He was providing solid minutes for the Cougars until he got injured. A healthy Cartier will be pivotal for his squad, as they are loaded with guards and will be an exciting young team to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2540343' first='Kendaris' last='Steele'] (6'7/PF|C/'27/Hoover)

IG: Kingkj_32

X: @KingKJ_24

Ranking: #48

Kendaris is one of the players in this class that I am looking forward to watching next year. He is still raw in some areas, and hopefully, he will use the off-season to add to his offensive toolkit. With DeWayne Brown leaving and [player_tooltip player_id='2224458' first='Jackson' last='Sheffield'] stepping in as the man in the middle, Kendaris will be the backup guy to Jackson. There is no questioning if he has the athleticism that can help him impact the game in transition, on the boards, and as a rim protector. With Hoover losing the majority of their scoring production in the graduating class, Kendaris could be able to provide on offense, but he will for sure impact the game on the glass and on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2729430' first='Cody' last='Coachman'] (6'1/SG/'27/Gardendale)

IG: I_am_codycoachman

X: @codycoachman

Ranking: #51

I have followed Cody for a few years, and he has grown his game and emerged as a very confident perimeter shooting guard. He is a multi-level scorer and is really productive with his three-ball and the range in which he can shoot it. His ball-handling has gotten tighter and can be beneficial when he has to handle primary creator duties. Gardendale has some talent, and it will be interesting to see if they can put it all together and make some noise next year. Cody will be a key piece to the puzzle if they can.

[player_tooltip player_id='2729436' first='Ericson' last='Washington'] (6'0/CG/'27/Hoover)

IG: ewash14

Ranking: #53

Ericson is a tough young combo guard who will be looked upon to replace the lost production from the graduating class. He excels at all three levels, is confident when scoring out on the perimeter, is fearless when attacking the rim, and can initiate the offense at the lead guard position. He has good court awareness, balances scoring and facilitating, and makes others around him better.

[player_tooltip player_id='2797199' first='Jordan' last='Davis'] (6'0/PG/'27/Decatur Heritage)

IG: jordan_corde0

Ranking: #69

Jordan is a lead guard who helped to lead his team to the final four.

He is a shifty lead guard, and what sets him apart at the PG position is his feel, vision, and basketball IQ. He sees the game well, is a really good passer, and consistently makes the right reads. He dances with the rock, gets the defender off-balance, and then attacks gaps and lives in the paint. He has a knack for the drive, draw, and kick game and playing off two feet. He has really good PG tools and a budding PG IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='2729460' first='Fernandez' last='Hill'] (6'0/CG/'27/Huntsville)

IG: iam.dez.hill

X: @iamdezhill

Ranking: #97

Fernandez is a solid backcourt talent who can play on and off the ball. He plays within his role and contributes to winning by doing things that will not lose ball games. He competes on both ends, can orchestrate and provide scoring, and will be challenging to be a piece to the puzzle that will replace the graduating class for the Panthers, who provided most of their production and who got most of the minutes.
