showed a polished inside game, using his great touch around the rim and strong post-up ability to consistently score in the paint. He was effective playing off the pick-and-roll, converted at the free-throw line, and controlled the glass as the lone post, finishing with a game-high 20 points.

Strong 6-foot-5 forward/post that usually plays inside for Hillsboro showed some versatility with his game. The senior spotted up on the perimeter for a number of cath-and-shoot attempts and proved that he was a threat from three-point range, draining multiple threes in the first game at the event. Also established himself as one of the top defensive rebounders. (JT)

Quite frankly, it was a complete oversight to not have Garcia in the rankings at this point given he’s been the top dog at Hillsboro since his sophomore season. A dominant rebounder – he finished second in the state in 5A in boards – the junior is also mobile enough to make a mark on the defensive end as he also finished second in 5A in steals. A three-sport athlete, it will be interesting to see which sport he fully pursues at the college level.
