How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As a point guard, I am a leader on the court. I make sure everyone is in the right scoring position to ensure success. I am also a consistent scorer who can get buckets in a variety of ways (e.g., driving to the basket, shooting from beyond the arc, mid-range pull-ups). I am able to break down defenses with my dribble and deliver accurate passes.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a relentless competitive spirit and hate to lose. Every possession matters to me. Losing a battle gives me more determination to get better and come back stronger. My competitive nature pushes me to constantly improve and challenge myself and my teammates. I thrive in pressure situations and see them as opportunities to elevate my game.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I have received multiple empathy awards, as well as responsibility awards at my school.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I like to encourage my teammates to be the best they can be. I work hard to build relationships on and off the court. By building these relationships, I build the rapport with my teammates and this helps the success of the team.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
As the only freshman on our Varsity Basketball team, it was difficult to go from the top player on the court to being the youngest. My first game I was very timid. I was afraid of making a mistake and I didn't want to let anyone down. After the second game, I realized that I deserved to be on the team and worked outside of practice to be better and stronger. I earned All-Conference honors.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a campus that feels like home. I am looking for professors that are involved in my learning. I am looking for a competitive basketball program.
