March 15th-16th I attended the Attitude of Gratitude High Academic Camp. There were exactly 60 campers with 6 full teams.

It was a unique experience for the campers since actual college coaches were the camp coaches of the 6 teams. A bunch of new players were at the camp and the players that shined had the college coaches talking to them after the games.

Here were some of the standout Non-Senior Newcomers

[player_tooltip player_id='2812180' first='Anthony' last='Colonna'] Independence (Pictured)

The highly skilled scoring lead guard can fill it up with mid-range pull-ups, deep threes off the catch and brings heavy confidence. He can take a bump well and gets to the basket with a confident handle. He goes in stretches where no one can stay in front of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812746' first='Cash' last='Hill'] Arizona Lutheran Academy

A scoring guard missed day one but he shined on the second day. He will score with catch threes with a quicker release and driving layups. He will collect a steal and lay it in on the other end. He is very fast on the break to score it in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2500961' first='Talan' last='Sprouse'] Glendale Prep

An undersized and stocky shooting guard who can score. He will shoot the three off the catch and he is deceptively fast to burst past his initial defender to get to the basket. He knows where the ball should go and you will rarely see him force the issue with a big IQ for the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812174' first='Ben' last='Perez'] NVCA

A scoring defensive combo guard is very scrappy on defense. The lefty can score it with threes off the catch, fall aways and mid-range pull-ups off the dribble. He will take it to the rack with his dominant left hand and play the game from the neck up.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812156' first='Cannon' last='Trythall'] ALA West Foothills

A scoring guard with stronger upper body. He will score with dribble drives to the basket using his build/frame and sneaky tighter handle and he can shoot it from mid to the three point line. He can get hot and will ball fake into a layup or even fall away in the post from his opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='2442113' first='Brody' last='Wilson'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A good sized sophomore combo guard is a long and lean defender. He uses his wingspan and quickness in the passing lanes and to keep defenders in front of him. He can score with driving layups and he will constantly make the extra pass as he moves the ball for open shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2775850' first='Aaron' last='Moser'] Chaparral

A freshman shooting guard can put points on the board. He loves the mid-range jumper off the dribble and can blow past his defender into a runner. He will also catch and shoot from the three point line and he has a polished floater game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812168' first='Carson' last='Bennett'] ALA West Foothills

A real point guard with an advanced feel for the game. He is a very good passer as he anticipates where his teammate will be and will throw the dime perfectly in stride. He will also catch and shoot from the three as a potential knockdown shooting sniper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812175' first='Jestin' last='Romero'] Mesa Mountain View

A scoring combo guard had a good showing. He filled it up with in-traffic layups, euro steps to the basket, which seems to be his pet move, and catch threes. He will pass it up the court with sneaky court vision and he will also score it inside with counter moves down low into a layup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812170' first='Hunter' last='Rositas'] Bradshaw Mountain

A shooting guard is a nice sleeper from the North. He will score it multiple ways with layups in traffic with a nice handle and good body control to go with it. He will pull-up from the three or off the catch and make a play with drive and kicks.
