[player_tooltip player_id='2624519' first='Stephon' last='Cherry'] was fantastic for Hopewell. He did a great job attacking the rim, and he had a few nice offensive rebounds he turned into points. Stephon is a good athlete and a strong finisher. He had a great start to this game, and he had a few finishes in transition late to ice the game.

I felt like a big reason Hopewell was able to beat Meridian was what they did in the paint. They outmuscled Meridian and worked the offensive glass. [player_tooltip player_id='2459212' first='Jamese' last='Jordan'] is the best example of that. Jamese had a few strong post moves, and he had an aggressive dunk off a pass in the first half. James had an OREB turned into an easy bucket that iced this game. Meridian didn't have an answer for him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963391' first='Deshawn' last='Spellman'] has game for days. Deshawn can get his own bucket from all over the court. He had a few tough mid-ranges early in the game, and he knocked down a big three in the 3rd. Deshawn is a good athlete and has great size for a wing. An elite scorer who has led this Hopewell team all year.

Spotswood knocked off Northside in a little bit of a surprise with how easy they made it look. The shot creation and shot-making from the Spotswood guards was something else. Cam Pacheco was on another level in this game. Cam has a smooth handle and is a knockdown shooter. Cam had a few moves when he got to his spot in the mid-range that really opened my eyes. He scored from all three levels effectively and finished with 28 points.

The other Spotswood guard who was terrific was [player_tooltip player_id='2242424' first='Tyler' last='Sprague']. Tyler was lethal from three and handed a handful of nice passes. Tyler's ball handling and shot creation was terrific, and Northside had no answer for him. Tyler had a couple of strong takes where he used his body to discard defenders. The biggest difference in this game to me was the fact that both Spotswood guards had the ability to get a bucket whenever they wanted. Tyler finished with 24 points.
