<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Smith Valley was out in front in the beginning of the game thanks to the shooting of Luke Lannom. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Then [player_tooltip player_id='2798434' first='Dalton' last='Fain'] of Virginia City came alive, and started to heat up as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was fairly close going into halftime, and then Fain hit a 3 with a second left to make it 26-24, Smith Valley after two quarters. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the third quarter, things stayed close and [player_tooltip player_id='2807276' first='Eric' last='Covarrubias'] and Brysen Walston also got going for Smith Valley. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fain and co. weren't going down without emptying the tank though. He just kept making shots, and [player_tooltip player_id='2798436' first='Dontae' last='Young'] also pitched in some second chance points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With just a minute left, the score was 49-46, Smith Valley. But Fain launched another 3 and buried it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On what turned out to be the final possession, Luke Lannom attempted to get to the cup. He was then fouled by Virginia City. In the first quarter, he drained two 3-pointers and a two-point shot. From there he leveraged the attention that he was drawing to his advantage, and found his teammates for some open looks. He also splashed in another 3 and a couple of lay-ups. After that, he kept attacking on offense and out up a few more buckets before halftime. Including a 3 right time expired at the end of the second quarter.
